Bedard really needs to get it through his head that there are not two standards: blog and major news organization. There are actually three standards: blog, blog of a major news organization, and major news organization.

Traditional media members lose all perspective when it comes to the internet. Just ask Mike Wise of the Washington Post. He made up a Tweet (about Big Ben's suspension reduction) and was suspended a month. He was trying to make a point about the recklessness of the internet and Twitter, but he did it in such a way as to cast his own credibility into doubt. Brilliant move by him.
