Yeah. Me too. I liked EDS. Provided adequate depth. I want to know what we were offered but declined for Spitz. Not much difference between the two...

Glad you think so...maybe you should sign up for the next online how to be an NFL general manager course, maybe someone will listen.

    • Come on. Let's stop commenting on each other's faults.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

It's a shame we had to wait over 90 minutes past the deadline to learn who the packers cuts were.

        • Interesting that Barbe and Blackmon went on IR. I wonder if either will hit TC with us next year.

Havner was a guy who was pretty good at a whole lot of things. At some point, though, if you fill your roster with guys who are pretty good at a lot of things you end up with a roster that's just "pretty good". Eventually you have to go with guys who are or have a chance to be great at what they are asked to do.

Finley has a reasonable shot to be as good as it gets, Lee provides hardworking veteran depth, Quarless is every bit the athlete that Finley is (and is nearly as raw as Finley was), and Crabtree has the potential to be, down the line, a TE that blocks the living heck out of people. We don't have one of those, and we could use one of those.

If you predict down the line a year,Finley, Quarless, and Crabtree is a much better TE corps than Finley, Quarless, and Havner; since Finley doesn't block all that well, Quarless doesn't lcok all that well, and Havner doesn't block all that well. Lee is a guy you're looking to replace at this point in his career, but we weren't yet ready to replace him this year.

So what did Havner do wrong? Nothing. But sometimes you do everything you can, and work as hard as you can, and you still end up on the wrong end of the numbers game. Havner was never going to be a star, but he should land somewhere.

That said, we all want to know. The media is just doing their jobs. I'm sitting here waiting for the final roster.
I remember growing up watching the local GB tv reporters interviewing players in the parking lot right after getting cut. I don't know, but getting in someone's face right after losing their job is a lot more traumatic than posting it online.

There always is some last second juggling of rosters. The onese I feel for most are those who survive the final cutdown and feel like they're about to play in their first NFL reg. season game only to be released from a waiver-wire pickup after final cutdowns.

It would be nice if we all had something better to do and were just willing to sit around and wait to see who made the roster on Sunday. I mean, it's the first college football saturday of the year! There's football to watch!

It would be cleaner, and easier, and probably better if people didn't need to know everything RIGHT NOW, but that's not the world we live in. Ohwell.

Your right about that, I don't know why some were freaking out about it.

Every other team has now released cuts. WHY?

What's to be gained at this point?
Last year the Packers announced cuts at 6:02 PM Central time. I figure that we can expect about the same time today.

It's not like "here are our cuts" is something NFL teams get excited about, I mean a bunch of guys just lost their jobs. I imagine it's kind of a bummer for all involved.
So, 31 other teams don't care about their players but we do?

Not buying it. This is the type of unexplainable bs that'll drive you nuts.
Yep, and God only cared about Reggie White, the other thousand players in the league were SOL.

Jeff Blumb has apparently confirmed that Breno has eligibility but waldo keeps insisting it can't be true since it's the guys 3rd season.

Interesting. You'd think Blumb would know..
When is the last time anyone recalls Waldo admitting he was wrong....although I didn't think Breno had PS eligibility either, but I can admit if I am wrong about that.

I got 'interviewed' in the parking lot by the janitor the last time I was fired. Turns out he just wanted to know why security dragged me out kicking and screaming.

                              • VERY, VERY shocked at Havner mainly due to the versatility factor.

                                Former Packers cut:
Javon Walker, David Martin (fins TE), Jake Allen (WR Browns), Samkon Gado (Titans).

Not surprised TJ Houshmanzadeh got picked up by the Vikes, they need WR help BAD. Walker must not have had ANYTHING left in the tank to get cut.

Former Badgers cut: Donovan Raiola, Jason Pociask.

Consider ourselves fortunate vs. some teams. The Cards lose Warner to retirement. Leinart fritters away the starting job and they have to resort to Derek Anderson at QB (and Whisenhunt said the best QB in camp was actually BYU rookie Max Hall).

Happy for guys like Crabtree and Zombo. Street FAs busting their tail to make the roster are always a positive story.
