A report in the St. Paul Pioneer Press, however, said Sterger would decline to talk to football officials if she reached a financial settlement with Favre.

10/23/2010 11:35:44 AMThey are two consenting adults so this shouldn't even be an issue. The only person who has a legitimate complaint is Favre's wife. Sterger is a money grubbing whore. I am sure there are plenty of men who she has gladly given booty to get where she is today. Perhaps if she was better with her finances she wouldn't need to extort Favre over texts that happened a year or more ago

10/23/2010 11:39:01 AMWhy wait 2 years to break this story? Why didn't she report it the day, or week it happened? And the ONE QUESTION I've yet to see be asked, is how did Favre get her phone number? If she had no interest in Brett, then maybe she shouldn't have let him know her number, ya think?

in our yes, that would be true; but in the eyes of proof paying to shut somebody up does not.

I'm not going to defend Favre's character one bit. Douchebag is the best description I can come up with and I say that as a married individual who would expect people to be true to their spouse. I would not call her a gold doigger becaue I don't know the whole situation well eough. But in my mind I continue to doubt all the flirtations only came from one side

Favre still did it; remember that "the pursuit of happiness" was originally "the pursuit of money" but the former words of wisdom won the battle and hence become the ink on a rather significant parchment.

Can you blame her? Sure but if it makes her happy...

I do not understand the article. Its says the Pioneer Press has learned something and then makes a statement that is a tautology. My elderly neighbor could have told them this.

If they reach an agreement, of course, she would not talk. He isn't handing over money unless she agree to forgo other legal action and forgo testifying in any manner. So what did the Pioneer Press learn?

This statement was true the day the store broke and is true now. Are they trying to intimate that she is open to a deal? Or that Favre is open to a deal? They haven't advanced the story in any direction.

Its got to be a plant from one side or the other, indicating like a white flag that someone is looking to bail out and do a deal. But the Pioneer Press is closer to Favre than to Sterger, unless it was a call out of the blue.

                      • PB,

I have come to the conclusion that their source is your elderly neighbor.

                        Edit:

Sterger is either leaning toward talking to league officials, or is trying to pressure Favre to show the money.

What did Brett's dong know and when did he(it) know it?

                              • Partial denial about settlement talks. Of course, no one has said there have been settlement talks. I wish the reporters would get on the same page. From the Yahoo story about Glazer's report:

The NFL is investigating a Deadspin report earlier this month that Favre sent the racy photos to Sterger two years ago. Sterger, now an on-air personality for Versus, has not cooperated with the league yet, but her manager, Phil Reese, told The Associated Press on Sunday that could happen quickly.

“She is strongly considering it, leaning toward it,” Reese said.

Asked if Favre admitted leaving the voicemails for Sterger, but denied sending any photos, Reese added:

“We’re currently in the fact-gathering stage; all I’m doing is dealing with facts. Unfortunately the person in the pictures didn’t also hold up their driver’s license, so I’m not going to speculate as far as identity. But I’m working with people to diligently get all the facts.”

Reese also has said that Sterger has had no discussions with Favre’s representatives about a possible financial settlement stemming from the allegations.
