I agree that he wants the rights to those guys he would normally go after as UFA's.

it wouldn't surprise me if tt is trying to stockpile 7th rounders. we all know how much he likes his undrafted free agents. well this year with the lockout they can't sign any undrafted guys. maybe he'll draft those guys he wants this year

Could be that as well. But does that cover each of the 5 picks he has in the last two rounds? I think its some of both here.

And we might get closer to the old complaint of Thompson trading down so often he has the entire 7th round at his disposal.
