Exactly how many Super Bowls has Reid won while playing coach and de facto GM?

There is no debate between Reid and TT.

While I find myself questioning this it's hard for me to criticize anything TT is doing. He brought us a title.

But I hae always been a big JJ fan. Now that the market is slowing I would like us to make a decent offer to him. He's not going to break the bank and Clifton, Grant, and Driver will probably all be gone next year clearing up about 20 mil in cap on top of about 10 mil in room we have now. Plus the cap should only increase next year. I say bring back JJ now though. Jennings, Jones, Nelson, Driver, Cobb, Finley? Seriously thats some deep talent. If we stay healthy I would take all that talent over Asomugha and DRC.

I see Jones getting around 3 MIL per year
I'd be ok if we paid him that but not too worried if we took a pass

Remember there still may be some bargains out there.

Just because we let Jenkins go doesn't mean we might not be able to pick up a decent DL for the 2MIL or so range

Who does then ? I'd take their roster over Dallas and NYG. Who knows how it'll play out but I'd take their players and Reid is a good coach

They dumped everyone's favorite Defensive assistant (Sean McDermott) after last year and brought in the D Line coach from the Titans to pair with former O Line coach Juan Castillo as D coordinator.

I expected Jenkins to be gone, but more likely to the Bears or Redskins.

Eagles are going for broke defensively. Their defense will be much improved (but given the secondary stunk on ice even WITH Asante Samuel that wouldn't have been hard).

We caught some breaks (NYG folding vs. Philly and TB choking vs. Detroit), but we had reserve players and street FAs step up when called upon. We now have most of them back. The team chemistry will be different, but the title is still very attainable.

We have to be fortunate with injuries, but the Packers do have the main core group of players to win another title.

Neal and CJ Wilson will have to step up big. D-Line is thinnest spot on the team.

Heard John Clayton on ESPN Radio say that the Jets were after James Jones. Going to be a very different season, but it can be done, but it will just a bit harder with everyone gunning for you.

It'd be neat to really know what goes on behind the scenes. I think it's fair to say Jenkins is a bit bent that we didn't make any effort at all.

We don't know if TT made any effort to ask him to come back to see if GB wanted to match their best offer or if he made no effort to throw that option out there. Maybe Jenkins did come back and we said thanks for the memories. But gut tells me that did not occur and since GB didn't show much interest be4 the FA period he felt like moving on.

When interviewed on the NFL Network before it started I think he noted he felt 99% sure he would not be returning to GB

questions are with every squad. I've heard on NFL network many who find that OL coach to be near genius and had full faith in him. Good players make good coaches look good most of the time. Of course there are some exceptions if a squad is very strong in one area....my thoughts are we might be there with our secondary coaches

In fact, it looks as though they are going to play a new variant of the 4-3, one that features man to man coverage more on the outside (if rumors that Samuel is now the odd man out are, in fact, true). Its going to take some time and he's a first time D coordinator.

Yes on players, but were you ever that confident about Bob Sanders despite a lifetime on the d side of the ball? He has a lot to prove.

Not that bad as long as they stay healthy. Wilson was alright last year....which is great for a rookie. With that group they really need Neal, Pickett, and Raji to stay healthy as IMO they are at a different level of ability than the rest. Lose one of those and we are thin

Lol not impressed at all. There defense is not going to be able to stop us. Bring back Jones now though. Lock and load on them and we are putting up points regardless of Jenkins or Asomugha. They will be a tough team no doubt, but we are still more talented. I've learned from the past. I'm not going to get all worked up about losing Jenkins. Making tough decisions, drafting well continuously, and having patience is the name of the game.

We don't have an almost 40 year old QB any more. We are built for more than 1-2 years and keeping Sitton, Finley, and Nelson is more impotant than Jenkins. I easily see a 5-8 year run out of this team. Sign your young players just entering there prime to second contracts, not often injured players in there 30's. And we are STILL the more talented team even with all these signing.

I think my view on Vanilla Bob were pretty well documented. I think I was first on the hate train ....never wanted him hired at all.....and I was calling for a replacement a couple years before it occured.

Agreed. But will they even keep Samuel? They are handing out a lot of big contracts and Samuel is zone player while DRC and Asomugha are man cover corners. And you are right about Finley being the key. If he comes back and destorys they will have problems stopping us.

Hopefully this will turn out like last season when everyone including myself did not understand why TT did not go after CB help in free agency. Just like Sam Shield stepping up for us last season at nickel CB I believe Mike Neal will do that exact same thing for us replacing Jenkins.
