i don't know, in a 3-4 you're d-line really doesn't have to be all-world for you to be good enough to tie up the o-line so you're linebackers can go to town. its a major plus if your d-line is better then that. in our case raji looks like a beast, pickett is solid, and i know first hand that neal has been working his ass off all off season. add in green and wynn and wilson and our line looks more then good enough

Anything is possible and that could have been far less than he expected. Not sure if the Packers ever made an offer, my memory says they did not.Originally posted by Bretsky View Postso your view is GB had no interest at this cost ?
My gut agrees
If that's the case, then no, I don't think they wanted him back with Neal, Wilson and Wynn available.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Yep and if you want to start talking injuries.....the same could be said about almost every team. If we want to win the superbowl again we hae to stay fairly healthy. We can't have 15 players on IR again to win it all. We won it last year b/c we deep and got lucky they we lost players at positions with backups who were probably even better players. Looking at are roster and esp our starters, I still think we are the best team in the NFL.Originally posted by red View Posti don't know, in a 3-4 you're d-line really doesn't have to be all-world for you to be good enough to tie up the o-line so you're linebackers can go to town. its a major plus if your d-line is better then that. in our case raji looks like a beast, pickett is solid, and i know first hand that neal has been working his ass off all off season. add in green and wynn and wilson and our line looks more then good enoughDraft Brandin Cooks WR OSU!

I don't get where the Eagles are going to play Jenkins. He's not nearly good enough against the run to be an every down 3-technique (as I'm sure Packer fans are well aware) and between Trent Cole and Jason Babin (and Brandon Graham) he's not going to get many snaps at DE.
So did they just pay $5m/year for a situational inside pass rusher?</delurk>

I agree. I really like the Packers top 5 guys Raji, Neal, Pickett, Wilson and Green. However, Wynn is mediocre at best. I'm hoping they can find someone better, either in camp or elsewhere. Maybe Guy will surprise.Originally posted by Bretsky View PostWynn ? You can find him on any practice squad IMOI can't run no more

they said a little bit ago that they weren't gonna trade samuel. now they're saying they're taking trade offersOriginally posted by PaCkFan_n_MD View PostAgreed. But will they even keep Samuel? They are handing out a lot of big contracts and Samuel is zone player while DRC and Asomugha are man cover corners. And you are right about Finley being the key. If he comes back and destorys they will have problems stopping us.
so who knows. they'll probably get a couple 1st round picks for him knowing themLast edited by red; 07-30-2011, 04:53 PM.

Perhaps, but now that he has played in a Super Bowl, I can immediately overestimate him without fear of recrimination. Beside, all he need do is provide depth.Originally posted by Bretsky View PostWynn ? Exactly, so a qualified candidate with appropriate experience can bomb out. As could an O line coach moving to the other side of the ball, even a genius, is subject to the same possibilities.Originally posted by Bretsky View PostI think my view on Vanilla Bob were pretty well documented. I think I was first on the hate train ....never wanted him hired at all.....and I was calling for a replacement a couple years before it occured.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Large parts of their roster are underpaid or neglected. All of their WRs combined make less than Jennings or Driver. All of their LBs combined make less than Hawk. All of their RBs combined make less than Grant.Originally posted by red View Postnow they're saying on NFLN that the eagles could land plax
how the hell do they have enough money to do all this?</delurk>

Jenkins is surely better than Babin against the run. They put him opposite Cole on early downs and then move him inside and replace with Babin on passing downs. What I don't get in all this hussle and bustle is that they seem to be giving up (at least temporarily) on Graham. Babin isn't likely to play inside, it seems to me.Originally posted by Lurker64 View PostI don't get where the Eagles are going to play Jenkins.
