Great news on Sitton. I dont see Finley being extended until he proves he can stay healthy AND put up monster numbers for a full year. That will cost us much more if he does both, maybe even putting him out of TT's price range but I still think we have to see it before we break the bank to resign him.

one is best at blocking, one has the best hands, one runs the best routes and one is the best on special teams

just keep the 3 or 4 that are best overall and trade or release the rest imo
Because together they all make one fine Voltron.

        Or some kind of transformer.

Oh, and good news. Now Sitton can afford a haircut.

            I'm guessing 6 years, 39 million (6.5M/y)

It would really be a 5 year, 38M extension (7.5/y)

13 of it will come in the first year (bonuses and salary)

I'm guessing that's a good guess - and a good deal for the Packers. He's shown himself to be worth every penny of a deal like that IMO.

was just about to say this. hate to see us blow a bunch of money on potential and a few great plays. oh, wait. the whole league is built on this premise. nevermind.

That is part of the risk, though with Finley injuries have been far more prevalent than with Sitton. But getting him early, before he locks down numbers or All Pro selections that will drive up his price, you get a discount. Even Rodgers came in cheap because of this.

Pretty long contract for TT. Usually he goes for the short front-loaded ones instead of the long mike-shermany ones.

Well, Sitton will be 31 at the end of the contract, it's entirely likely that TT doesn't expect to give him a 3rd contract (especially if he develops a rep as a top OG) so he'll instead get all of Sitton's best years with his 2nd contract.

It'll take a couple of days to get this unless someone is in a big hurry. Kuhn's numbers took 1-2 days, Jones took nearly a week. Part of it maybe how busy the NFL and NFLPA are in reviewing the contracts and posting the information for agents.

It's a pretty crazy time at the league office this weekend, so I imagine sifting through all of the waiver stuff is going to push back the Sitton numbers coming out for a little while.

I also think that maybe the Packers keep these sorts of things quieter than other teams do (or maybe they just get covered by Midwesterners, unlike many other teams.)

Great news. If we re-sign Finley soon we are not losing anyone major probably for at least a couple years.
                                Draft Brandin Cooks WR OSU!
