He probably was, it's just that none of the beat guys bothered to contact Smithson's agent figuring it was fait accompli.

None of this news is coming from the Packers, it's all just Agents talking to the media.

I remember last year, the Packers PR guy coming out and scolding the media for advertizing the young guys losing their jobs. Same song and dance this year, but fans want to know what the team looks like.

I'm just gonna shit-can Smithson. That's obvious. Might as well lock So'oto, DJ Smith and Grant up too.

see, i'm tired, very tired, of the team wasting roster spots for guys that are "special teamers". its a complete waste because shawn slocum is still the specail needs coach

you could give that asshole the 11 greatest special team players of all time, and we'd still suck at coverage and returns

saying bush is a special teams star on our team is like winning a gold medal at the special olympics. congratulations, you're still a retard

The Packers always release a press release about this an hour or two after the deadline. They don't bother to leak stuff to the media, but if a player or his agent wants to that's their business. I think the Packer front office (rightly) figures that "some guy losing his job" is not something to crow about.

Might be one or two surprises down here. So far it's been fairly predictable. An undrafted guy making it or a trade is likely to happen down the stretch here. MD Jennings and Dominguez are the guys who seem to have potential.

Do we really have an eli joseph and an elijah joseph on our team, both from temple. That's a little odd.

Not confirmed, but it was said to a reporter by a source, can't get agent to confirm. Makes sense though.

They're twin brothers, I think we signed them as a combo package as UDFAs.

Potentially even odder, the Joseph Brothers' given names are: Elijah and Elisha, which are pronounced more or less the same unless you're being really careful and enunciating the last syllable deliberately.
