  • Manning Reported to Need a 2nd Neck Procedure - Out Indefinitely

This isn't well sourced at this point, as nothing has been confirmed by the team, but here's what 1070 The Fan in Indianapolis reported a couple hours ago.

I drafted Manning and Cassell in FF, and Cassell may miss week 1 with bruised ribs thanks to Howard Green (and his idiot coach). I've picked up Mark Sanchez.

Howard Green's coach is not an idiot.

Cassel's coach is at least a part-time idiot. Get your #1 QB out of the last Pre-season game, coach!

There's no "I" in team...but there's an "I" in Indianapolis. The Colts are going to realize how much they suck without Peyton Manning. At least they'll be in the Andrew Luck sweepstakes.

Swede: My expertise in this area is extensive. The essential difference between a "battleship" and an "aircraft carrier" is that an aircraft carrier requires five direct hits to sink, but it takes only four direct hits to sink a battleship.

The Packers had at least a part in getting at least 3 coaches fired last year. Favre helped with the glorious 4th so that counts too.

Perhaps we'll chalk up Todd Haley as the first one for 2011.

Who knows which reporter's sources are correct, or which sources either one is even talking to, but I will say this. I wouldn't put it past Mortensen and ESPN for a second to be up Manning's jockstrap trying to spin and quell speculation because Manning hasn't accepted this medical opinion yet.

Either way. Not good news. I was one of those that grabbed Manning... thinking that I was getting a bargain if he didn't miss more than a game or two. Luckily, I have Kevin Kolb and he has good matchups the first three weeks. Come on, Peyton. Get back by game 4 please.

Manning might be done. I dont know, but it doesnt sound good. He is a fierce competitor, so if there is any chance, he will be back. But when you are a sure HOF pick and have won a SB to boot, there is no reason to risk paralysis by any means.

If Manning is not playing, the Colts don't have enough of a D or a running game to overcome their substandard backup QB situation. They may be in the running with the Bungles for the top draft pick spot.
