Peterson was on Steve Smith, and couldn't cover him at all. Smith got 178 yards on 8 catches and 2TD's. Haven't seen any film, but was Smith just running free?

Without those yards, Newton's throws for 244 yards, 0TD and 1INT. Much more rookie like.
