Two weeks of waiting and we're finally here folks! As usual, we'll take a look at the Vegas component of the game and how that could correlate with the outcome.
This game opened at Packers -9. For the noobs out there, this means that if you bet on the Packers to win the game, you have to win by at least 10 points. Anyway, so obviously the entire country has been all over the Giants this week and pushed the line down to -7.5. The -9 was just BEGGING people to take the Giants. How could you lay 9 points when the last game played between these two teams was decided by three points?!?! Giants, lock of the week!!
Not so fast.
This is one of those that appears to be a Vegas trap game. They got a ton of money on the Giants, the line moved a point and a half and they won't bring it down to -7. Money is still coming in on Giants. Home teams are 6-0 against the spread (ATS) in this year's playoffs and that's not going to change today. Forget about your Cinderella stories, folks... Vegas knows what they're doing.
The last two games I've wrongly predicted the Packers to come out and establish the run with guys like Saine back in the mix. Now, with Starks back, and the world expecting Rodgers to show why he's league MVP ---- I'm predicting a big run day to keep the pass rushers honest. They might even run for over 300 yards on the back of John Kuhn and Ryan Grant. Wouldn't be surprised.
Temperatures around 26 with winds between 10-16 MPH... it's going to be cold out there. I'm not betting this game but the Packers win 35-27 and cover to run the home team to 7-0 ATS.
GO PACK GO!!
