  • OFFICIAL GREEN BAY PACKERS VS NY GIGANTES GAMEDAY THREAD - DIVISIONAL ROUND EDITION

Two weeks of waiting and we're finally here folks! As usual, we'll take a look at the Vegas component of the game and how that could correlate with the outcome.

This game opened at Packers -9. For the noobs out there, this means that if you bet on the Packers to win the game, you have to win by at least 10 points. Anyway, so obviously the entire country has been all over the Giants this week and pushed the line down to -7.5. The -9 was just BEGGING people to take the Giants. How could you lay 9 points when the last game played between these two teams was decided by three points?!?! Giants, lock of the week!!

    Not so fast.

This is one of those that appears to be a Vegas trap game. They got a ton of money on the Giants, the line moved a point and a half and they won't bring it down to -7. Money is still coming in on Giants. Home teams are 6-0 against the spread (ATS) in this year's playoffs and that's not going to change today. Forget about your Cinderella stories, folks... Vegas knows what they're doing.

The last two games I've wrongly predicted the Packers to come out and establish the run with guys like Saine back in the mix. Now, with Starks back, and the world expecting Rodgers to show why he's league MVP ---- I'm predicting a big run day to keep the pass rushers honest. They might even run for over 300 yards on the back of John Kuhn and Ryan Grant. Wouldn't be surprised.

Temperatures around 26 with winds between 10-16 MPH... it's going to be cold out there. I'm not betting this game but the Packers win 35-27 and cover to run the home team to 7-0 ATS.

    GO PACK GO!!

      Well done, Mission.

I am so confident in the pack I am DVRing the game and going to floor our cabin where there's no TV.

      45-34, Pack.

This game is all about getting a 2-score lead. Make the Giants offense one-dimensional and interceptions will happen. If the Packers OL can protect Rodgers, the Packers should score in the 30's.

Make it Packers 34 Giants 24.

Packers will cover and win by 10, 34-24.

This is the year of the underdog. Giants in a laugher 42-28. Defense wins championships and the Pack can barely suit up 11nfl caliber players. I would guess we are close until Crosby misses a FG and then Ski torches Woodson for the fifth time and Nickel sets a record for 5td receptions.

Ski? (Manningham, Nicks, Cruz, Bradshaw, Jacobs, Manning, Ballard, ??)
                          Nickel? (personnel? uniform number?)

                          I'm confused and curious.

The Media has been riding the Giants hard all week. Good, I say. The Packers have fed off of that all season. There was a stretch of games -- Lions, Giants, Raiders -- where pundits figured each one of those teams would surely be the team to end GB's perfect season and the Pack kept stepping up. Then no one figured they'd lose to the Chiefs and they did. They love the negative press.

Everything suggests a high scoring affair so I'll say 27-14 Packers. Defense plays with uncharacteristic abandon after getting asses chewed on for 2 weeks. Burnett sticks to his responsibilities and nabs an INT for being a good boy when the Jints try to go up top. Jarett Bush gets a sack.
