Thompson overestimated the talent on the defensive side of the ball. Granted losing Collins and Jenkins hurt but there are some really glaring holes on the defensive side of the ball.
So losing Collins and not getting a healthy Neal after drafting 4 college kids for defense is underestimating? That is just hindsight.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

    • I didnt see a lack of talent out there tonight. (or all season) we didnt play well and got beat.

      • 8 drops, 4 turnovers, and a Hail Mary (after a feeble tackle attempt on Bradshaw the play before). Hard to win with those stats. We played shitty, and we got what we deserved.

If your first pick on defense is in the fourth round (supplemental pick) and your next three defensive picks are two sixth round picks (one cut); a seventh round pick (IR'd) and putting your faith in a "healthy Neal" who has proved absolutely nothing .... then YES, your overestimating your talent level on defense.

Too much uncertainty/rust in key positions: Clifton, Bulaga, Jennings, Woodson, Williams, Shields, Bishop, all big question marks for this one.
That Rand guy seems pretty smart. Check out the post game thread for answers to your questions.

Dude, this team was dead last in defense!!!! They gave up over 411 yards per game!!! They have lots of problems on the defensive side of the ball and if not addressed, there won't be raising the Lombardi Trophy again anytime soon.

Don't forget a couple of bad throws by Rodgers that Aikman did his best to try and hold receivers responsible. Rodgers had a very unRodgers like game and it is the reason the Packers lost. Rodgers exremely high level of play this season covered up a lot of problems.

Isn't this awfully similar to your battle cry last year? Yup. I think it is.

You can't turn the ball over 3 times and drop 8 passes and expect good things.

What did you think of the throw to Finley late that he had to leap for? Bad throw or bad route? Any way to tell?
