  • OFFICIAL PACKERS VS BEARS GAME DAY THREAD

The Pack needs to man up and put a hurting on the Bears.

Cutler has proven week after week that if you pressure him he makes bad throws.

Hopefully, the O after a full game together has shaken off the rust and will be running on all cylinders tonight.

Pack win going away in the 4th 34-19.
But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

    OGDP.

Can't watch the game. Social function that I have to attend. Maybe it's for the best.

Bears win, the difference being a flukey ST play. 27-24

I just about yelled at Dan for starting this early.

I hate Thursday football. the only fond memories of it were the annual Browns v Bengals tilt on Thursday when Modell held sway over the TV contracts. It was usually the only time they were on National TV until Kosar came along.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

You going to the game to defend Bush!

You're right. I forgot to get tickets. Damn. I hope he survives until the next home game.

It's nothing he already isn't use to.

Let's hope Section 128 has nothing to complain about tonight.

After waiting 9 long months, 1/8 of the season will be complete 4 days into the 2012 campaign for the Pack. Not a big fan of these short weeks - and we always seem to have more than our share.

Bears are playing supremely confident and drubbing a college team. Well - we're not the Colts. And Cutler and his 1-5 record vs. the Pack shouldn't be talking ANY shit for awhile.

And even if we lose - all we have to say to those fans... 21-14 NFCC 2010-2011.

That said - I WAS worried about this game after watching our defense somehow regress after last years team. Add in a bunch of new faces, communication/execution issues and NOT force any turnovers (the only hallmark that our D could hang their hat on).

But I think this week will be different. The Pack (and Arod) seem to play better when doubted. It plays to many teams and I think that'll be the mental edge.

Here's what I think on offense:
                - I don't see us running the ball anymore efficiently.
                - But wtf - how about a toss sweep or a fricken screen.
                - Please (please), give Arod some protection by keeping the back and TE into block for the Oline.
                - And for christ's sake - if you're open and have the ball in your reach - catch it!

                Defense-
                - Stop with the cute blitz packages. Why try pro sets when you're personnel are operating (for the first times in game speed) at college level.
                - Press/Man anyone?
                - Take some timeouts on Defense if you're totally clueless
                - Worthy - time to step up

I see a knock 'em, drag 'em out fight. 20-17 good guys
The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have.

my hope is that we got caught last weekend, "looking ahead to the bears" and we actually see a packer team that is prepared to play against the other team on the field

I doubt it. I thin they were as prepared as they could be last Sunday. The thing is, they should improve as the season goes along, assuming no more huge injuries. They just got beat by a better team. Doesn't mean they can't beat the niners down the road. My big concern is that they play well enough to win tonight, despite being a team in transition - esp on defense - so that they don't start out 0-2. Two home losses is brutal to start the season. Nevertheless, I was expecting something like a 2-3, 3-3 start to the season with a lot of panicking and then steady improvement. We'll see....

Shields has got to start, doesn't he?

I just hope he hasn't looked cross-wise at Whitt or Capers this week. And he should pay the video people to put his tackle of Gore on a loop inside Lambeau.

EDIT: It occurs to me now that the Packers CB position is like the last spot on your fantasy football team, where no one really deserves to start, but someone has to be there, so you play matchups and hunches. RCB for the Packers is like Beer League Softball's right field.

By the way, who was it who absolutely drilled Randy Moss when Moss was trying to block for an almost TD (I think it was that play)? I wouldn't be surprised if that was Bush. It was the highlight of the game for me.

However, that being said, Shields was only targeted once in the 49ers game and Bush 9 times. I want to see Shields on the field. At least he can track the ball.

Packers are 8-2 during the last five season for Gold Package games. The only two games they lost I was not able to attend. The last regular season loss I have seen at Lambeau was the 06 35-0 beat down by the Pats.

I am going to be there tonight and the streak continues to 9 straight home season wins when ThunderDan is in the house!
