*Telling myself I was always big on Crabtree. Thinking of giving myself the "Saw it Coming from a Mile Away" award.*
Actually I did always like the kid for seeming to have a streak of hockey player in him; a mean, tenacious, try-hard.
He looked anything but graceful or fast or even particularly athletic in his long TD, but he does put his old meat hooks on the ball pretty well. I only remember two dropped passes in all the time he has been here, although I am sure there are more.
So, yeah, I accept this week's SICFAMA with a humble and grateful heart.[QUOTE=George Cumby] ...every draft (Ted) would pick a solid, dependable, smart, athletically limited linebacker...the guy who isn't doing drugs, going to strip bars, knocking around his girlfriend or making any plays of game changing significance.

Somewhere in the bold predictions thread in the offseason I predicted a breakout year for Ryan Taylor. Meanest son of a gun on the roster. I don't understand why he didn't get some more opportunities: all he did last year was score TD's. His dad should have a little talk with MM.

I know this has been brought up before, but what's up with the Packers training staff? Perry is the 2nd Packer recently (Greg Jennings) who needed surgery after getting a second opinion on an injury.Originally posted by denverYooper View PostFrom Silverstein:

For all we know, the players sought a second opinion to confirm the medical staff recommendations for surgery..Originally posted by Joemailman View PostI know this has been brought up before, but what's up with the Packers training staff? Perry's surgery was on his wrist, not on the knee which was the injury that supposedly kept him out the last few weeks.Originally posted by Joemailman View PostI know this has been brought up before, but what's up with the Packers training staff? At least, he was playing with a wrist that was bothering him before he injured his knee.
What might have happened is that Perry was going to rest his wrist while his knee healed so he can be 100% in order to come back, and the wrist didn't get any better so he had it looked at and it turns out he needed surgery.</delurk>

So Perry was playing with a wrist injury that now needs surgery. Isn't it conceivable that he was playing with it because the severity of the injury was misdiagnosed?Originally posted by Lurker64 View PostPerry's surgery was on his wrist, not on the knee which was the injury that supposedly kept him out the last few weeks.

Sure, but it is also possible they wanted to give it an opportunity to heal without surgery, especially if surgery meant his season was over. When it didn't heal, he went to a specialist, got a second opinion and had the surgery.

Its also more likely the player had a choice; surgery to fix 100% and be out for most if not all the season or cast it and try to play.Originally posted by Joemailman View PostSo Perry was playing with a wrist injury that now needs surgery. The timing of the knee injury might be coincidental or it could have been the bye week that triggered an new eval. But Perry could have decided he could not play effectively with the wrist in the shape it was in and did not see it getting better, even while out with another injury.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

perry is just now finding out he needs surgery?
it took 7 weeks to figure out jennings injury wasn't something that will heal on its own, but an injury that needs to be fixed
WTF is with that clown?

You can have two different parts of your body hurt.Originally posted by Pugger View PostDidn't he have surgery on his wrist?
An LCL injury wouldn't require surgery unless it was a complete rupture, which would be unlikely without being accompanied by injuries to other knee ligaments that would carry an immediate "out of the season" designation.
Generally LCL injuries will heal on their own with standard RICE treatment and PT. The wrist, on the other hand, is complicated and delicate. There are a lot of wrist injuries that can only be healed surgically and require a considerable recovery time.</delurk>
