  • Official Packers vs. Vikings Gameday Thread

We've all been here with this team. The list of the walking wounded could fill a roster, guys dropping like flies to IR left and right. The offense is sputtering, the defense is stringing games together with duct tape and chicken wire. The secondary is promising but the big 5 looks more like the meager 3.

But we've got hope. Hope! As in: "Help us Obi DuJuan, you're our only hope".

The fact of the matter is this could shape up to be a real banger of a game, down CJ Wilson and Clay Matthews against ADP, the Vikes sure look to make some hay on the ground. Time for the fatties Raji and Pickett to hold down the fort and Moses to take us to the promised land.

On the other side of the ball we can hope that the reshuffled line gains some experience and confidence this week. I doubt Harris will see many snaps, but who knows? Maybe he represents the reach we're looking for from the coaches and he proves Legand a Legend, whose praises will be sung forevermore in PackerRats lore as (Harris) once again forces the defense to respect, R-E-S-P-E-C-T, the running game at least a little bit.

At the end of the day, I think they'll beat back the barbarians at the gate. All Day will get his but the birthday boy will have his cake and eat it too. The Vikings are a growing young team, but down Harvin and lacking the complements to Allen, they probably just won't do enough in Lambeau where the OL should get some help from the home crowd and the home turf.

The real difference, though, is that Greg Jennings will put the team on his back, dogs.

With no Harvin, Vikings don't have much in the passing game. Should make it easier to focus on AP. Packers 27-13.

        Enjoy the big game esoxx.

Can you put a report on Packerrats .... ie What your experience was and what you saw in the game? That would be cool.

Try First Row Sports and look for eu.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

They have Rudolph, who has been banged up. I agree with your point though. They're not going to get a ton of plays there.

I agree with the sentiment that without Harvin, the Viking offense is entirely one-dimensional. They have no passing game. The Bears dismantled them last week. After getting punched in the mouth last week, the Packers will be hungry to look a lot better on offense and should be able to reasonably contain the poor Viking offense.

Green Bay (7-4) has won two in a row and five of six at home versus Minnesota (6-5), which fell 45-7 at Lambeau Field Nov. 14, 2011.

Aaron Rodgers has completed 72.0 percent of his passes for 1,181 yards with 13 TDs and two INTs during the Packers' four-game winning streak in the series. The Vikings didn't put up much of a fight in a 28-10 defeat at Soldier Field last Sunday. What will two straight games on the road do for the Vikings? Last week Vs the Bears the Viking 'D' played very sloppy. So did our defense Vs the GIANTS. Which team will correct that aspect of the game?

Things we need to see in today's game:

                  1. The BIG NEWS ! Greg Jennings is reported to be back and it's left to be seen just how much he will be allowed to play. With WR Greg Jennings back:

                  a) We need to see Aaron Rodgers more aggressive throwing the ball than what we saw Vs The GIANTS. In the last two games Vs the GIANTS and LIONS; Green Bay has only 326 yards through the air

                  b) We need to see Jordy Nelson targeted more this week. Jordy Nelson will no longer be double teamed ; so free to be a primary target for Aaron Rodgers. Last week Jordy Nelson caught one TD pass but for the most part wasn't able to get open. That shouldn't be the case this week.

                  c) We need to see Randall Cobb be given the opportunity to be more productive. Aaron Rodgers will be able to look for Randall Cobb in the slot as Jennings and Nelson draws the Vikings secondary downfield.

There is a trade off margin in this aspect of the game planning. The question will be...How much will Aaron Rodgers be able to go deep? This is where we need production in terms of shorter completions and solid blocking schemes.

We need to see a mixture of rushing and TE offensive production but moreso our OL needs support in the passing game; so we need to see that from our RB and TE positions. Blocking a tough Minnesota Viking pass rush led by DE Jared Allen (7 SACKS) is a primary need for Aaron Rodgers to get into rhythm. We need to see a solid defensive offense or Aaron Rodgers will suffer.

Adrian Peterson is averaging 147.4 yards and 7.4 per carry in the last five games, and has to be the focus of the Packers defense. We need to see that as we did the last time the Vikings played in Lambeau Field when AP was held to 51 yards and a TD on 14 carries.

In general we need to see our teams defense step up and especially so given that Percy Harvin will not play in this game. IMO this is game one in our march to the post season and a game the Packers cannot afford to play sloppily in as it's a must win and one to dash any Viking hopes of post season play.

The Vikings have surprized this season. We need to see that end today.

We need to see what the Bears gave to the Vikings last week. An early up hill battle for the Vikings by opening with quick scores and a solid lead.

                  GO PACKERS !

Going to try KY. I'll admit, this one makes me a wee bit nervous because of all of the walking wounded but in the end the Pack's passing game should be > Vikes run game.

                            Next man up, eh?
