you can always gain more cap room

so get some fucking players that fill some of our many holes
That's right ! If the hired help is acting lazy, not showing up for work or otherwise not living up to your expectations and/or a discredit to all your paying for services.

Get rid of them 'outright' and hire new help. Lowering his/her wage isn't going to produce an enhanced result.

Hawk just had one of his best years as a Packer. Tramon is the big question mark. Finley is in the last year of his contract so it doesn't matter what he does this year. He either plays like crap and doesn't resign or he plays great and the Packers have their franchise TE.
But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

Tell that to Cobb, Harris, Shields, Hayward, Jones, Jordy.

We have a lot of young talent that is a step away from being solid blue chip players.

Jones had his breakout year last year and I think that partially led to the depressed value for GJ in TT's mind.

When you have a QB who throws for 4,000+ yards every year there aren't a lot of additional yards to sprinkle around. Adding another superstar WR won't add an additional 1,000 yards and 8 TDs to the offense.

What the hell are you smoking? Clay is going to get a massive deal this offseason. Mario Williams set the bar last year with a 6 year, $96M contract. Clay is going to get something very similar. Even backloaded, that kind of deal is still going to have base salaries of at least $5M a year at the beginning, plus another $4-$6M on top of that to cover the huge signing bonus.

Clay's cap number IS going to move from $5M to over $10M this year. Count on it. That eats up about 1/3 of what we have available.

The bottom line is that Green Bay will not backload ALL of those big contracts upcoming. Sure, you can do it and have plenty of money now...then have to get rid of everyone 4 years later. We aren't the Washington Redskins, Red. Stop wishing us to be.

And they also wind up getting rid of most of these guys that everyone else is signing. Which is why those teams are continually .500 or worse. We are continually a 10 win a year team or better. I'll take that, thank you. Winning in March means JACK-SHIT. JACK-SHIT, Red. You damn well know that. Stop acting like a 3 year old. Teams make huge FA splashes every year. Philly did it a few years back. They were the "dream team". What did that get them? Is that what you really want to become of Green Bay, Red? Seriously? Miami has signed half of the available FAs this year, it seems. Guess what? I'll bet you $$$ they don't win more than 8 games next year. So what the hell does it matter if they "win" free agency this year?

STOP BEING STUPID, PEOPLE. You are better than this. You are a Green Bay Packers fan.

Anyone have the numbers? Haven't see a thing yet. In 2013 his base is, $4,900,000, pro-rated signing bonus is $1,600,000, other bonus is 550,000 and the cap hit is $ 7,050,000.

I would imagine, as I saw it was a one year only adjustment and an absolute paycut not a restructure, that he reduced his base salary down to $1 mil or below for 2013. So his savings to cap would be close to $4 million. Down from seven to 3 million.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

No idea what the numbers are. I guess agents are as quick to release the numbers when their client has to take a pay cut.

With Jennings gone and Hawk restructured they will both be on the team this coming season. I hope Williams' shoulder is finally healed and we'll see the 2010 Tramon.

you talk big shit for being someone so fucking stupid that they can't comprehend how NFL contracts really work

i'm not saying we need to become the eagles from a few years ago where they signed everyone on the market

but we need, a real safety, some might say an upgrade to hawk, we need to do something different on the d-line, we need a real center, a real left tackle, and an NFL caliber running back, not to mention a decent backup QB

one or two of those areas could have been addressed this week, the draft will not fix all those issues
