The draft bio on Moore is very pedestrian athletically. He's on the small side and doesn't have a lot of quickness. What do you like about him?"There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. But quite frankly, most of the people that are commenting on it don't know anything about what they are talking about."--Ted Thompson

Well, he's not that short, but I think he might be shorter than Hawk. On a side note: it seems like the ILB group is shorter than normal. Most are in the acceptable but not ideal range (6'-6'1").Originally posted by Guiness View PostOr what we just got rid of in DJ."There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. Maybe, but I got that rumor in two entirely separate sites. Did a lot of background on him.Originally posted by wist43 View PostLet's not go crazy here... not sure TT will get too carried away retooling the front seven.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. That JerseyAL guy at AllGreenBayPackers.com was one. He has a bunch of writers all of whom could be Joe Arrigo for all I know, but he has had some good draft info before.Originally posted by Fritz View PostYou have a source on that PB? And what's your take on Minter?
The other was Huber at Packers Report, the Scouts Inc. outlet for the Pack.
I have only heard his name. If I have seen him play, I did not know it was him.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

There are so many good players sitting out there, it's going to be hard to wait and wait and wait to get to the Packers' pick. Maybe I'll just tune in around pick #24.
And if Monte Hall is there and the Pack don't take him, Bretsky will sigh heavily and many Rats will throw things against walls."The Devine era is actually worse than you remember if you go back and look at it."

Plays faster and bigger than his measurables. Beat Terron Armstead for a sack in the Senior Bowl, and looked good doing it. Gets low, plays with good leverage, takes good angles, has good instincts, is a good tackler... tough and physical, and despite his lack of height, he's a pretty damn good pass rusher.Originally posted by HarveyWallbangers View PostThe draft bio on Moore is very pedestrian athletically. He's slated to go in the 2nd round in a lot of mocks - he's not a reach taking him at 55. Dane Brugler at cbssportsline has him going Rd 2, #49 to the NY Giants.
Kid is a good football player.

And here I don't even have Monte Hall on my radar... I mean good grief, he's gotta be 80 years old by now isn't he??Originally posted by Fritz View PostThere are so many good players sitting out there, it's going to be hard to wait and wait and wait to get to the Packers' pick. He was 60 when Let's Make a Deal went off the air, and he was fading fast then.
No, I'll pass on Monte Hall

Sio Moore's Measureables are more weird than bad. I'd say he's a rush linebacker at the next level and not an ILB. He jumped like a gazelle and has a really special combo of length and power (34" arms with 29 reps). But his agility drills and stuff are on the lousy side. 4.31 ss and 7.49 3-cone. Yuck.
I think this is a guy you want to put in a position to take on lineman on a regular basis and far away from an area where he might have to cover someone. He seems like a 3-4 outside linebacker.70% of the Earth is covered by water. The rest is covered by Al Harris.

Yeah, a lot of people are projecting him to the weakside in a 4-3, but I can see him being a damn good ILB in a 3-4.Originally posted by 3irty1 View PostSio Moore's Measureables are more weird than bad. I like a few of the ILB's, but nobody is really special... I was looking for a hybrid kind of guy to move inside. I want more size and explosion at that position. Moore is an explosive player... I know his agility numbers aren't pretty, but I think what you see of him on film is enough to project him to just about any LB spot you want.
Like I said, the kid is a good football player, with good instincts. Instincts and good game tape trump his agility drill numbers.
If you went by his workout numbers, he probably wouldn't be more than a late round pick... but he's a better player than that.wist

I don't think his workout numbers are poor at all. He's very explosive and his jump numbers show it. 38" for a 245 lb dude is elite. His 40 time is fine and his bench press is fantastic. His overall numbers look a little like Nick Perry's except for the part where he's 25 lbs lighter. He's got huge potential off the edge as a pass rusher.Originally posted by wist43 View PostYeah, a lot of people are projecting him to the weakside in a 4-3, but I can see him being a damn good ILB in a 3-4.

He could be a 2 down ILB but on 3rd downs I think you'd want him coming off the edge rather than covering. Interesting player with interesting possibilities.
Reminds me a little of Stewart Bradley or maybe even Bobby Wagner from last year.Last edited by 3irty1; 04-26-2013, 03:06 PM.70% of the Earth is covered by water. The rest is covered by Al Harris.
