    Thanks for stopping by.
But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

Pot, meet kettle. I should go back through the last game day thread, I'm sure you were one of the ones organizing the lynch mob early!

We were still 11-man football back when I was in High School but because of reduced enrollment and all the small school consolidations that have taken place in the past 10-15 years many of the small schools like ours were forced to change to the 8-man format due to the lack of opponents in our district. As it is, many of these small schools still have to travel 2 hours or even longer to their games which really sucks. Currently there aren't any, "mercy" rules in place and games with teams scoring 60-80 points are quite common. The team that we will probably face in the next round is ranked number 1 in the state in this class and they were ahead of their 1st round playoff opponent last week 60-0 at halftime!

I think you're correct that the 8-man format originated in Nebraska or someplace where the schools were too small to field 11-man teams. I'd never even heard of it until about 15 or so years ago. I guess our current claim to fame is that we're the only school in Iowa to have won state championships in both Class A 11-man when I was a Junior and now the 8-man format a couple of years ago.

It's not quite "Deliverance" out here Red but considering I just moved back after living the last 25 years in places between Milwaukee and Chicago it's definitely a culture shock! Lol! In fact I just moved after living near Burlington, WI. which is where I think Cheesehead Craig said he was from. (Tony Romo's hometown.) Oh well, when family is involved and parents start getting older I guess you have to do what you have to do.

Yeah it was definitely due to the small high schools. I actually went to high school in Nebraska in a small town of 1000 and our high school was only 100 students. About 30 kids were on the football team each year and we routinely had to drive at least 40 minutes for football games, if not farther. Ironically, the closest high school to us was in a town only a bit bigger (3000 pop.) and they had 11 man football.

The 45 point mercy rule was a god send with many of our games ending sometime in the 3rd quarter. The last thing I think most of us wanted to do was stand/play in the cold weather in October in a blow out win/loss.

Facemask penalty against the O (Packers). Didn't catch who, Bakh again? He seems to get a few of those.

Wow, play action to Lacy, LBs step up and Jordy runs free across the middle. Nice!
