Because it's a broken collarbone, and there was a chance that he would be back. I did some research on it, and broken collarbone's have been known to heal in 6 weeks. Generally, it takes 10 weeks. And sometimes it takes as long as 16 weeks or more. I think Woodson missed 9 (maybe 10) weeks. If Rodgers healed the same, that would put him back for week 1 of the playoffs. 10 weeks would get him back in the conference semifinals.Originally posted by red View Postif rodgers wasn't close to coming back then why wasn't he IR'd along with jolly and bostick?"There's a lot of interest in the draft. Not sure about that, they usually don't go back to the clock at the snap but the clock after they blow the whistle and get the play stopped. Technically, that play never happens, but they always leave the seconds off the clock.Originally posted by HarveyWallbangers View PostAnybody mention that the clock should have been reset to 13 seconds--not 10 seconds? That would have given enough time for two plays. Lang false-started with 23 seconds left. Oh well.
E-A-G-L-E-S!!!Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Its pretty strange but Woodson was the same way. Each week he was out he thought he was close and then he would get ruled out late in the week.Originally posted by HarveyWallbangers View PostBecause it's a broken collarbone, and there was a chance that he would be back. Makes me wonder if red is also right that Rodgers should be glowing by now from all the scans.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Yet that same team is in it at the end to throw it away. Save for 1 week (Thanksgiving) this Packers team can at least be described as "scrappy".Originally posted by woodbuck27 View PostHow many times did the Packers throw that game away?

I'm so confused, irritated and out of it. I thought for sure that if the Packers lost today, Bears would win the NFCN regardless - hence confusion
I was at the in-laws today, same place I've been at the last two weeks/wins. I had one Christmas wish/request = "The Game" was not to be put on. Well, it was put on and I immediately grabbed the wife and child and we made our exit - hence irritation.
I'm still a little buzzed - hence the out of it.
It sounds like Slocum should be fired, Flynn fucked something up and our defense still sucks. Sooooo, I really didn't miss much.

More than anything, blame Lang for doing what you absolutely cannot do in that situation. Blame Nick Perry for doing the same on the Steelers last drive.
Man it's hardly worth it but it's too easy and....that post reminds me of cheese.
Swiss cheese.
What part of clock management, including getting time back on the clock, belongs to our teams HC...Mike McCarthy?
Is Matt Flynn calling his own plays? If so is he related to or the reincarnation of Terry Bradshaw?
Matt Flynn runs the play as directed by the Packers HC...Mike McCarthy. He can 'only' see that play it seems. Checkdowns are something he does with a grocery list.
Again today we witnessed first hand just what a muck up MM can make of play calling and especially when the team needs the big play.
Maybe Flynn wouldn't have missed a wide open Jordy Nelson if MM had called plays to preserve time on the clock or see above.
MM is under way too much stress for his ability to handle such. MM simply wants this season to end so he can be just like TT and .................hide.
It's becoming way over the top too obvious that what's going on puts a brand new meaning on "something stinks in the State of Denmark".
That damn game was ours for the picking and it was simply screwed away by MM and his ways. His somehow needs..ie Shawn Slocum.
That terrible on and off again Packer secondary. How many DB's really stood out today besides Micah Hyde and all his experience? Does MM like his DB's coach? I expected that Steelers WR Antonio brown would burn the Packer Secondary almost at will. Why do those men play so soft?
It's not even worth it. It's really so dumb that fans can see better than the people we count on to put a decent product on the field and given that products efforts. Allow them to enjoy a win.
I place most of the blame for that huge loss on Mike McCarthy. If you don't, then I ask frankly why not? Isn't it much easier to realize that you should?
MM ... yes Mike McCarthy, blew that game away from us and he wins the 'Special Award' for his underachievements and sure he did some things just fine. As the head coach some things doesn't cut it. So for Mike McCarthy that special award:
The green mass of hairy moldy cheese.
Enjoy.Last edited by woodbuck27; 12-22-2013, 09:07 PM.** Since 2006 3 X Pro Pickem' Champion; 4 X Runner-Up and 3 X 3rd place.

well he hurt the thumb that was surgically repaired and was still in a cast. he was in a ton of painOriginally posted by gbgary View Post21-0 phi. game over. next week matters. what's the news with clay?
i'm guessing if he had screws or pins still in there, then he's done. if he didn't still have hardware in there then he probably just re-broke it. it would be much worse if he broke a pin or screw.
either way, i'm guessing he needs another surgery and is probably done for the year
the thing that they didn't want to happen to rodgers, is the thing that just happened to clay. why clay was able to play with a still broken thumb but a-rod could not play with his own broken bone, is a mystery to me

i'm guessing he hurt a different part of his thumb as the previously damaged part was protected by the cast. hope we're both wrong.Originally posted by red View Postwell he hurt the thumb that was surgically repaired and was still in a cast. he was in a ton of pain

Flynn didn't as you put it f..k it up. He doesn't get the primary blame. He's simply Matt Flynn and not having the skills of Aaron Rodgers or that other QB that led his team to so many wins in Packer colors before Aaron Rodgers. Matt Flynn shouldn't be counted on to complete plays that they would find difficult.Originally posted by pittstang5 View PostI'm so confused, irritated and out of it. Not sure why you are asking me this question, are you referring to Harvey's contention the clock operator/refs mishandled the clock?Originally posted by woodbuck27 View PostHow many times did the Packers throw that game away?

thats really really asking for a lot for your a-rod less team to make it to the conference championship without its best playerOriginally posted by HarveyWallbangers View PostBecause it's a broken collarbone, and there was a chance that he would be back. i can see your point, but i think its fucking delusional (not you, the team if thats what they're thinking)
