Looking like Chud out at Cleveland after 1 year.
    I can't run no more
    With that lawless crowd
While the killers in high places
    Say their prayers out loud
But they've summoned, they've summoned up
    A thundercloud
They're going to hear from me - Leonard Cohen

Chud is gone from Browns. Wow. He got the Ray Rhodes one year treatment.

If they don't keep Ray Horton as DC, I will allow all of you to run Capers off the team as long as you promise we hire Horton. He's a wizard.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Just heard Browns fired Chud and immediately thought that could mean Horton was out of a job. However, second thought was that the Browns could make Horton the HC. I really, really want Horton in GB.

I've herd good things too about Horton and the Browns 'D' this season was talked about positively often.

              He's not going anywhere.

Don't count Rex out from being available. He is in last year of deal and will want extension. Also Twitter has GM asking him to make staff changes. Weirdly, the changes according to NFLN are to DEFENSIVE staff. Their D was brilliant.

Browns cocked up a bunch of fourth quarters, and they failed repeatedly on defense. So it would be stunning to me to have them eliminate Chud just to install Horton. But stranger things have happened. But you can't axe Chud like that unless you have someone lined up it seems to me.

Early speculation is Josh McDaniel and Bill O'Brien. O'Brien thought to be second choice after a brutal interview last year.

Was it the D though or a reverse Packers where the Offense just wouldn't give the D a break?

At this point we have moved from mystifying to insulting.

There was some of that to be sure, but there were games where the D just collapsed, with some help from refs (see for example, the loss to NE). I just don't get pinning this on Chud, when he had such a terrible slate of QBs to work with - was that his fault. Scott Campbell? Steny Hoyer? and Joss Weeden? Ug, what a collection of stiffs. When they traded T Rich, the players knew there was no pressure to 'win now' And the players have said as much.

That might be justified, but you have to wonder how the collection of injuries have flooded down to and gutted special teams.
