Position: T
Positive: Four-year starter who lined up at both left and right tackle. Awarded all-America honors since his junior season. Polished offensive line prospect effective in pass protection and as a run blocker. Keeps his feet moving throughout the action, makes great use of blocking angles, and shows the ability to easily slide off the edge. Bends his knees, stays square, and effectively works his hands throughout the play. Redirects to linebackers blocking in motion and removes them from the action. Solid run blocker, turns defenders from the play, or engulfs them altogether. Explosive at the point and plays intelligent football.
Negative: Doesn't show a killer instinct or nasty attitude. Lacks classic arm length for left tackle.
Analysis: Mathews was a consistent performer at Texas A&M, protecting the quarterback in a pocket that was constantly in motion. He comes with an NFL-ready game and limited downside risk.I can't run no more
