Nice find, I did not see the Sam sack. That is the kind of move he had not been getting beat on before. And on that snap he looked like he did last week. Playing a little too high and with no leverage. Sam just dipped his shoulder after faking a bull rush and got the corner.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

That CBS video link from Harlan shows the sack he gave up late. I think they got Rettig.Originally posted by bobblehead View PostTrying to figure out what game you were watching. The guy had a rough first series. Now, I haven't watched the 4th quarter, but he was pretty good after taht first series. Time will tell. You guys can have the bahk love. I don't see a significant difference between him and Sherrod atm.
On the plus side, he didn't lose him until very late and Rettig saw him coming. He had time to dump the ball. Its wasn't a jailbreak, but it also wasn't good.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

He had two complete breakdowns in first half, and one near miss. This against a backup. In 2nd half, he got abused by a practice squad level guy.Originally posted by bobblehead View PostTrying to figure out what game you were watching. The guy had a rough first series. What we learned last week is Sherrod can play on a muddy field. He's good-to-go in a driving rainstorm.
There are a lot of games on fast turf. Sherrod is supposed to be the 6th man, he's on the field with any non-center injury.

4th Quarter with 7:28 left. But it was Flynn (#10) who took the sack.Originally posted by Harlan Huckleby View PostIt was Flynn, I think 3rd quarter but I could be wrong. Sherrod took a much needed seat on bench in 4th.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Are you saying that you think Sam is a practice squad guy? I don't. He had 19 TFL playing in the SEC last year. He was considered to be a middle round pick before he came out. Not defending Sherrod here, but Rams got a steal by getting him in the 7th round.Originally posted by Harlan Huckleby View PostHe had two complete breakdowns in first half, and one near miss. I don't know if Sherrod is the 6th man. If one of the Guards go down, are they moving a Tackle there? Haven't seen any signs of that.I can't run no more

In googling for the Sam Sack, I found post-game articles skeptical that Sam will make roster. Practice squad sounds possible, who knows.Originally posted by Joemailman View PostAre you saying that you think Sam is a practice squad guy? I don't. He had 19 TFL playing in the SEC last year. The Green Bay Packers were deep in the St. Louis Rams' end of the field, threatening to score another touchdown and put the game out of reach.
I assume that the Packers will put the best 5 on field, which would mean moving Bach to guard if a guard goes down. At least that is true if Sherrod is best backup, but that may be in question.

"Panicked"? That makes for good radio, but I don't think TT or MM are "panicked." "Panicked" is when you realize your wife has found the sexts from your mistress.Originally posted by Harlan Huckleby View PostListening to Jason Wilde on the Mark Chmura Sunday morn radio show. Wilde says he expects the packers are panicked over the play of the backup tackles.
Are they thrilled with Sherrod or Adams today? I doubt that. But it is the second game - a preseason game - for a guy who hasn't played in nearly two years.
I think they'll try to get him to realize and correct the flaws that are causing this, and same with Adams, and also keep an eye on the waiver wire."The Devine era is actually worse than you remember if you go back and look at it."

Panic would have been understandable last year. Lost the best tackle to an injury and start two rookies.
Panic is not normally associated with backup tackles.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

especially when one starting tackle is names bulagaOriginally posted by Harlan Huckleby View PostIt's hard to remember a year where a 6th lineman wasn't called upon to be a starter.
i hope there is some panic about backup tackle, its kind of an important position. and based on what we saw yesterday, we don't have a competent backup
and yes, micheal sam is a practice squad player. him being gay might have been the one reason he even got drafted after how horrible he looked at the combine

Looked like a typical lost rook to me. Got the sack, but that was about it.Originally posted by red View Postespecially when one starting tackle is names bulaga

It will take that kid a good bit of time to learn his role.
SEC or no, it's a big leap from college ball to a Greg Williams D system.

I just don't get the same sense of desperation as last year from either the O or D lines.
On O, they have Tretter and Linsley, both perhaps better options than EDS though you expect growing pains and some blown assignments. I have seen only one from Tretter so far.
With Bulaga back its an obvious upgrade over last year. If you discount him because of injury concerns, I would rather have Sherrod than last year's version of Barclay at RT. I would also prefer this year's Sherrod over any year Newhouse.
Haven't seen much of the Guards because I have been transfixed by Sherrod. My sense is there is no obvious starter in the backups, though all Packer lineman seem to be run blocking better than previous iterations of the line. The bad side of this is that there are more pass blocking leaks in the last year plus 2 preseason games than before.
On D, there have been better run fits than in any of the last 3 years with the possible exception of early 2013. Jones has been clean to run to the ball and seems to be getting there and that is in part due to D line play. Jones and Daniels seem to belong starting and Boyd has looked good. Have watched more Peppers than Raji, so can't say much about how BJ has looked. Peppers finally showed something last night.
By size, they should miss Pickett and Jolly. But so far that doesn't look to be the case.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

True, but last week it looked like they might have two. It is probably somewhere in between, not as bad as this week, not as good as last week. Sherrod should have a lot of rust to get rid of. I am hopeful that he will progress into a competent backup no worse and probably somewhat better than Newhouse, and they played a lot of games with Newhouse in the starting lineup.Originally posted by red View Posti hope there is some panic about backup tackle, its kind of an important position. and based on what we saw yesterday, we don't have a competent backup
