There's a lot wrong in the Ray Rice saga.

This is what a two game suspension looks like -- Ray Rice delivering a vicious punch to his fiancee's face, knocking her out cold ... and TMZ Sports has the shocking video.

One hotel worker says the NFL saw the video and the NFL says it didn't. Does that mean that the Ravens didn't see it as well?

Did the NFL really need to see the video to understand what happened? Dragging a limp body out of the elevator wasn't enough?

Also, the incident happened seven months ago. Did TMZ pay someone to leak it?

Further, if the victim didn't press legal charges and even marries her attacker one month later, then can the NFL truly justify the anticipated lifetime ban on Ray Rice? Com'on, let's face it, Ray Lewis was intimately involved in a murder and Michael Vick tortured and killed dogs in grisly ways. Both were welcome to play again. Yes, I know hypocrisy reigns in the NFL where revenue is the bottom line, but still, instant outrage after seven months is tough to take.

Victims of domestic abuse sometimes stay in abusive relationships, so the fact that they got married later might not be very significant. Is anyone talking about a lifetime ban? The policy recently announced by the NFL calls for 6 games for a first time offense.

BTW, I hate cocaine. The Grateful Dead were merrily taking their pot and acid and mesc, the love was free and flowing, and then cocaine got popular. Coke is an insidious, mean-ass drug that ruins personalities and lives. It's worse than meth in that it is socially acceptable. Coke destroyed so many people in the 70s and 80s before people knew what it was about. Nice white people, too.
He doesn't have any history that shows he can succeed at the NFL level, and the reports from the Packers camp weren't all that great - rusty, raw, several drops, talk of moving to FB. Add to that a second arrest for substance abuse, even after a treatment program, and you have a guy who isn't going to be worth bothering with. Maybe if he is clean for a couple of years, and keeps in football shape somehow (arena or CFL?), but until that happens, he is going to stay out of the NFL.

There's a story kicking around about this. The other video's of course existed. Someone (NFL, Ravens, both?) had the hotel mgt threaten the shit out of the security staff that if the incriminating videos got out, they would lose their jobs. Well, the casino that this happened at went out of business. None of 'em had any jobs to worry about and sold 'em or whatever to TMZ for money and/or spite. The casino went belly up the 1st part of Sept so the video's were on ice until then.

So the NFL and the Ravens look like a whole load of assholes and Rice get's the boot and lifetime suspension.

Dunno if it's true or not, but it explains a lot of shit.

              Wrong Thread for Ray Rice
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Lyerla resurfaces. After catching a break on the DUI
Colt Lyerla ‏@LongLiveLyerla 6m6 minutes ago
My DUI case from Oct was officially DISMISSED today. S/O 2 the justice system for allowing me 2 prove my innocence.
                Thanking the #GoodVibes
He kept quiet the rest of the year. He has made a plea to NFL GMs to consider him. However, there are a few problems...
                1. He is using the hashtag #TheResurrection for his workout videos.
                2. If you look at his Twitter, he recently started following Jameis Winston (ok) and someone called Slut Whisperer (not ok)
                3. He claims to have been in the NFL rehab program with no failed tests for a year and a half. That puts the start date 6 months even before the draft, is that even possible? The claim would raise eyebrows.

These might all seem like minor things, but with the lunatic he's been in the past, I think most GMs will sigh and move on.

Yep. All three legitimate concerns. Although on the third one, he could just be bad at math.

Is he supremely athletic? Yes. Does that mean it will translate to the NFL? Not really, but no one knows. Is the headache worth it? Every fan hopes so, but no one knows, so no.
No longer the member of any fan clubs. I'm tired of jinxing players out of the league and into obscurity.
