    Pete Dougherty ‏@PeteDougherty 1h
McCarthy essentially said House earned chance to work ahead of Hayward in nickel n dime

That's probably going to change with Hyde hurt. I don't think Bush goes in ahead of Hayward.

    McCarthy PC in brief:

    Green Bay Packers ‏@packers 1h
McCarthy: Davante (Adams) has earned those opportunities. He's been coming on. We gave him a shot & he made some plays. #NYJvsGB

    Green Bay Packers ‏@packers 1h
McCarthy: They have grit. I really like the makeup & character of our players. This group is wired the right way. We improved as a team.

    Green Bay Packers ‏@packers 1h
McCarthy: I thought our defense got stronger as the game went on. #NYJvsGB

    Green Bay Packers ‏@packers 1h
McCarthy: Jordy (Nelson) spoils us. He plays that way all the time. He's just a clutch player. #NYJvsGB
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

    Rodgers PC

    Green Bay Packers ‏@packers 1h
Rodgers: We just didn't bring a lot of energy to start the game. When we started to show a little grit it came together. #NYJvsGB

    Green Bay Packers ‏@packers 1h
Rodgers on Jordy Nelson: He's pretty impressive. He gets overlooked at times, but we know what kind of player he is.

    Green Bay Packers ‏@packers 1h
Rodgers: I think we learned a lot about ourselves today. There's nothing that can replace winning. #NYJvsGB

    Green Bay Packers ‏@packers 1h
Rodgers on passing Bart Starr on all-time passing list: I was definitely thinking about Bart. He & I have gotten close. Wish him the best.

    Green Bay Packers ‏@packers 1h
Rodgers: It was a character-building win for us, and our first win. Now we're 1-1 and tied for the division lead.

    Nelson PC:

    Green Bay Packers ‏@packers 1h
Nelson: It gives us some momentum. Great to win at home, especially your home opener. #NYJvsGB

    Green Bay Packers ‏@packers 1h
Nelson on his 200-yard day: It's fun, it's enjoyable. It's what needed to be done to win the game. That's all that matters. #NYJvsGB

    Green Bay Packers ‏@packers 1h
Nelson on going down 21-3: I told our receivers, don't try to go and do something special. We knew we'd be able to move the ball. #NYJvsGB

    Green Bay Packers ‏@packers 1h
That's all from Nelson. Stay tuned to http://packers.com for continuing coverage of the #Packers 31-24 victory over the Jets. #NYJvsGB

Little help from the Badger Beat guy at JSO:

      Tyler Dunne ‏@TyDunne 2h
Mornhinweg with the TO call on the sideline. ... Jets go ahead and convert the fourth down anyway.

      Jeff Potrykus ‏@jaypo1961 2h
@TyDunne The official didn't call the time until 91 from the Jets yelled into his right ear...

Andy Mulumba (right leg) was just taken to the locker room on a cart.

        Green Bay Packers ‏@packers 2h
Hyde & Mulumba out with knee injuries for #Packers. #NYJvsGB

Home opener after getting blown out on the road...how does a team that is supposed to be a SB contender come out flat in that kind of situation?

I was taken aback to read it. I always think things like this are an easy charge for fans to make but have little evidence to back it up. Basically, that this charge is leveled at almost every team that falls behind or has a bad stretch of plays.

I wonder if he'll discuss in in detail on his radio show.

Regarding the Jets timeout on the TD play: NFL rules say that only the head coach or a player in the game can call timeout. However, the rules also state that when a snap is imminent, an official is not supposed to turn his back on the field to see who is calling for the timeout.

NFL spokesman Michael Signora said in a statement the play was officiated correctly, because "when a snap is imminent, game officials are instructed not to turn their attention away from the field to verify who is calling the timeout. A game official should not grant the timeout only if he is certain it is not being requested by the head coach."

Richardson said he "helped" Marty get the TO call to the ref by talking right into the refs ear. Its good to work as a unit.

Maybe the Packers believe too much in the "Lambeau Mystique"? Do they think they're going to win just by taking the field?

                        According to @PFF, @HighRizer38 allowed 1 completion, 6 targets, 4 yards, 1 INT.

The guys at @PFF have their #Packers analysis up. Only three missed tackles on D. Peppers with a QB hit, three hurries, one batted pass.

That surprises me. Last time we saw much of Hayward, it was during his rookie season, and he was playing pretty amazing. It sure seems that his play then was a level above where House is now.

I thought the mystique had been dead for years. 3-5 in home playoff games since 1998. I wonder how carefully Rodgers had thought through what he was saying, or if he was just trying to come up with an explanation for something that seemed and should be improbable, and that this--which as Max pointed out, is really just a whiney cliche spouted by pissed off fans--was what came out. It would help to hear more from him. And in my case, I need to see the replay cuz I missed the game itself.

It was a botched snap. Rodgers never had it and because he was leaning back he didn't have a chance to recover it so I don't know if I'd call that coming out flat.
