CMIII I would imagine has to almost shadow Sproles. Hawk CANNOT follow that cat.Swede: My expertise in this area is extensive. The essential difference between a "battleship" and an "aircraft carrier" is that an aircraft carrier requires five direct hits to sink, but it takes only four direct hits to sink a battleship.

Good point. Here we are halfway through the season, and we still dont know what we got. We play solid one week, then pathetic the next, the look unstopable the nextOriginally posted by Maxie the Taxi View PostAs far as I'm concerned, this Eagles game is going to be pivotal, maybe not with regard to the standings, but with regard to my opinion of this team. Arguably the Eagles are the best team the Packers will face to date. A top flight offense, a great running game, an arsenal of misdirection plays, great team speed, a defense on par with the Packers and league leading special teams.
If the Packers are truly an elite team with prospects of going deep in the playoffs or even the Superbowl, this game against the Eagles at home is one that they should win. Their performance in this game will tell us a lot about this team.
Very up and down team

More challenges GB will face next Sunday: Head Coach Chip Kelly and his no huddle offense. Kelly is an elite coach. Stubby is going to have to be at the top of his game. The Eagles play fast and Stubby can't afford his characteristic brain farts. Plus, Capers' defense is going to be pressed by the no huddle, even with a new guy at QB. Adjustments are going to have to be on the fly and substitutions will be limited.
On the other side of the coin, the Packers play a pretty fair game of no huddle offensive themselves which will stress the Eagles' defense.
Talk about a recipe for a high scoring game. One time Lombardi was disgusted with the team in practice and told them they were going to have to start with the basics. He held up a ball and said: "This is a football." McGee immediately called out, "Stop, coach, you're going too fast," and that gave everyone a laugh.

If the Packers can handle the Phily rush, they should do well. I trust Rodgers to not turn the ball over like Newton did. That and not punting the ball to Sproles (how about another no punt game).
Sanchez did hit a number of ~20 yard passes, but they didn't have a lot of long drives, just quick strikes with short fields. They have a short week so there should be fewer unscouted looks, which will help the Packers.2025 Ratpickers champion.

Agreed. However, the same goes for Philly. Carolina defense aimed to stop the rush and were pretty successful, but Sanchez beat them through the air. Can the Packers' D stop the run and the pass? Or at least not let either one beat them? I don't know. We'll find out.Originally posted by MadScientist View PostIf the Packers can handle the Phily rush, they should do well. The Eagles have been winning by scoring in a lot of unconventional ways. They have top notch special teams and have multiple touchdowns through that channel I believe (3 TDs). Packers have surprisingly mediocre ST this year so unlike Bear games in the past against Hester and Coach/Houdini Dave Toub, this matchup doesn't look as one-sided as it could have been.
Eagles also have several scores by virtue of their defense, either turnover/short field or straight return TD (2 Pick Six and 2 fumble returns). Normally, this is something the Packers don't let happen.
If they keep up their normal ball security ways, they have a decided edge at home.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Alex Gillett is an amazing athlete. He could easily convert to defense and play CB.Originally posted by George Cumby View PostNow let's see them pick up a white corner back.

I just learned there is a ESPN Lehigh Valley, like there is ESPN Madison or ESPN Milwaukee.
What do they talk about that isn't covered by Philly radio? The Lehigh Engineers? Muhlenburg's volleyball team? Kutztown's golf team?Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Here is a list of white DBs:Originally posted by Zool View PostAre there any left since Sehorn retired?
There are actually quite a few...Remember, more than 30% of the NFL is white. Here are 23 that played at least 1 game in 2009. There are more than this, but this list comprises most of them. Those in BOLD, started more than 8 games. Gregory and Weddle have both started a game at corner back and Gregory continues to shift to nickel back from strong safety in some plays.John Busing S, TexansCraig Dahl, FS, RamsSean Considine, SS, JaguarsReed Doughty, FS, RedskinsAaron Francisco, FS, CardinalsMatt Giordano, FS, PackersSteve Gregory, SS/CB, ChargersTodd Johnson, SS, BillsKevin Kaesviharn, FS, TitansJim Leonhard, SS/CB, JetsCorey Lynch, SS/FS, BuccaneersJohn McGraw, SS/FS, ChiefsTom Nelson, FS/CB, BengalsDonnie Nickie, S, TitansSabbi Pitscitelli, SS, BuccaneersBrian Russell, FS, TexansEric Smith, FS/SS, JetsNick Sorenson, SS, BrownsCraig Steltz, FS/SS, Bears Raymond Ventrone, FS/SS/CBEric Weddle, FS/CB, ChargersJohn Wendeling, S, BillsTom Zbikowski, FS/SS, Ravens
