Cobb: keep... Pay him.
Bulaga: probably keep... He is not a great player, but he is a good player. Unless someone ponies up for him and pays him like an All-Pro, we should sign him.
Williams: probably keep... He is not as good was Woodson was for us. He's better than Shields. Would be a mistake to let him go unless the price is just crazy.
House: probably keep... He's still young and can play the outside. He will probably get a 1-year deal, but we cannot overpay.
Richardson: probably keep... Good special teamer and will be cheap.
Tolzien: probably keep... He won't get any big offers in free agency. Now that he's more acquainted with the offense, he's the backup in 2015
Guion: probably keep... Depends on Raji and what kind of sniffs he gets in free agency.
Barclay: probably keep... Depending on how his knee recovers. He won't have a big price tag due to the injury.
Harris: probably keep... We'd have to draft a RB or strike gold with an UDFA to let him walk. He's cheap.
Raji: probably keep... He's a decent player and I can't imagine the market being that good for his services.
Boykin: let him go... Janis, Abby, and Dorsey are going to be cheaper and one will turn into a player
Bush: probably let go... Bring him into camp if he doesn't get any interest in FA
Kuhn: let him go... Finding a similar player to replace him would probably be easy and definitely be cheaper
Flynn: probably let him go... Could be the right draft to pick up a QB, or else wise just stick with Scotty
Lattimore: let him go... Easily replaced.Last edited by smuggler; 12-05-2014, 01:55 PM.

Before the season, I would have said James Jones type number for Cobb, which probably would mean losing him. However, he seems to have bulked up and become more sturdy without losing his speed and shiftiness. I now see him as elite. Give him Jordy type money, but draw the line there. Bulaga won't be all that expensive - keep him - he seemed better this year than even the year before his knee injury when he was inexplicably mediocre. I think we can afford Tramon if it is for only 1-2 years. He's still NFL starter quality. I want to see Harris back and used more in the running game. IMO he's better than Starks. Guion is head and shoulders better than Raji. They just better not lose him and pay Raji the same or more than Guion would cost. Tolzien over Flynn, hell yeah! Barclay yes - he will be cheap. Boykin will be #6 with Abbrederis coming back, but he will be like Bush - worth a pittance for his special teams play. Kuhn for the vet. minimum assuming they don't do my pet idea that will never happen - go back to split backs. I never had the high opinion many do for Richardson, but dirt cheap he's worth keeping.
Off topic, but: Jumal Rolle looked great last week for Houston - sure wish we had him instead of Goodson (come on, Goodson, make me eat my words next year). What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?

I say get rid of Jones and peppers for sure, that would free up some money.Originally posted by Joemailman View PostRodgers cap hit in 2015 only goes up 700K. Matthews goes up 1.8 mil. Jordy's goes down 1.3 mil in 2015 and the accelerates after that. Peppers cap hit goes up 8.5 mil. He's playing for a 1 mil base salary this year. That will be interesting. They could save about 3.5 mil by cutting Brad Jones. Same for Hawk. I think one of them will be gone. I think they could sign Tramon for less than his current cap hit of 9.5 mil.

If Peppers is going to play like this next year, you better believe he'll be back. Notice anything about the Brady sack on Sunday? Our man Pep was double teamed on the right side. Both Neal and Daniels won their resulting one-on-one matchups. Game.Originally posted by Rutnstrut View PostI say get rid of Jones and peppers for sure, that would free up some money.

I think you have to find a way to keep House. Some interesting stats from GBPG:
I don't see anyway that they can keep both Williams and House. Both will expect the opportunity to be the starter. That probably makes Williams the odd man out due to age, unless....................they move Shields via trade. I like Shields as a player, but too often in crucial games he seems to go out with injuries, the Super Bowl, playoff game vs. SF, NE this past week, etc. Injuries are an aggravation alone, but he seems to compound them by missing big games. If they could use him to get a MLB, while keeping both Williams and House, I would be OK with moving Shields.Quarterbacks have an average rating of 69.5 when targeting House, according to Pro Football Focus. They're completing 46.3 percent of their passes. Both numbers are best among Packers cornerbacks.
They have to try to keep Bulaga. The O-line seems to be turning a corner, and keeping the unit together is important.
I want them to keep Cobb, but not for Nelson-type money or more. I'm afraid it might take that to sign him, so if they lose him because of that, I am willing to accept it.
Despite his penalty on the one punt, there have been some glowing reports about Goodsons performance on STs. He could be the heir-apparent to Bush.
I think they should be willing to spend some money on Cobb, Bulaga and House; maybe some for Williams and maybe a decent but not excessive contract for one of Raji and Guiton. All the rest are guys to sign if the money is right, but not critical.
If they need cap space, cut Masthay. They don't punt anyway!

What was everyone's expectation of Raji and Guion before both got hurt in camp? I expected both on the roster. But the presence of Pennell might have changed that calculus. They might try to get BJ again for a one year deal and one of them will be in jeopardy in camp.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs.
