I'm not talking about that - more incredible to me was the Lions continually messing up on the Cowboys final TD drive. Witten faking the DB (LB?) out of his jock on 4th and 6. Defensive holding on 3rd down. The eternity Romo had on the TD pass itself. It was painful to watch, and I wasn't even really pulling for them.--
Imagine for a moment a world without hypothetical situations...

I thought that Pettigrew was guilty of a face mask call.Originally posted by vince View PostAnd that ref who picked up his flag on that PI late in the game is in line for a defense contract.
I agree that whole thing was weird.

Not sure, but he should.Originally posted by Teamcheez1 View PostWould MM have gone for it in the same situation as Caldwell?
Unless you're up 40 or have an elite defense or the other team has Brooks Bollinger at QB, playing conservatively-especially in the playoffs-is simply giving the other team an opportunity to win the game.

Well said, new guy.Originally posted by yetisnowman View PostMan I made the exact same comparison to my dad as we watched both games together. Almost same spot on the field and Sherman did that same pussy try to draw them off sides/delay of game/ punt combo.
What also kills me is how coaches rarely seem to factor risk vs reward and clock/yardage in that situation. Let me explain....
There was 8:00 left and u are at midfield. If you fail on 4th down Dallas can't run the clock completely down and beat you with a last second touchdown. Because of the short field and time left there would be a couple minutes left when u get the ball back regardless of whether Dallas ties it or takes the lead. Best case is you convert and keep driving and running the clock probably leading to more points and possibly icing the win. Risk vs reward says u certainly should go for it IMO.

That or two fumbles and an INT.Originally posted by Tyrion Lannister View PostLeading by 14 points in the 1st quarter ain't having a game won. In fact, "playing not to lose", aka, conservative football, is stupid as stupid is.
I stand by my arguement: Cadwell's conservative decision not to go for it on 4th and 1 in the Cowboys territory cost his team the game.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Christie being there is about Texas votes, not Jones money - Jerry is rich, but not really Texas oil rich.
I, for one, think Carolina has a decent chance in Seattle. An extend-the-play QB like Newton is one way to attack the Seattle D, and the Panthers D seems better than earlier in the season.
It's always traumatic for me when my second favorite team plays the Packers. I think the Packers D is marginally adequate to stop Murray, and Capers will confuse Romo enough to have him screw up - a little bit at least. And the Cowboys will have a very hard time stopping Rodgers and the Packers passing attack. It won't be 45-7 again, but it just might be something like 51-24 Packers. What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?

Yeah, somebody must have reminded Christie that Texas has more delegates/electoral votes than Michigan.Originally posted by texaspackerbacker View PostChristie being there is about Texas votes, not Jones money - Jerry is rich, but not really Texas oil rich.I can't run no more

The most amusing part of the Christie in Jerryworld suite wasn't that he was there. There's not really a lot of surprise at that. Most of the jokes center around the awkward way that the celebration at the end unfolded. Jerry ignored his high 5 and then he half humped Jerry's hip once he was acknowledged.
