The latitude with which the referees decide there was a 'receiver in the area' is nothing short of ridiculous. I just watched Rivers throw the ball directly at the Iground at the feet of a rusher who was 2-3 yards away...no penalty.
It's pretty terrible. They also do the vector passing shit, where if the ball is thrown in the direction of a player, it's not grounding. Even if it's 25 yards over his head and out of bounds. That IS intentional grounding.
