Official Game Day Thread: Lions versus Packers Week 10
One time Lombardi was disgusted with the team in practice and told them they were going to have to start with the basics. He held up a ball and said: "This is a football." McGee immediately called out, "Stop, coach, you're going too fast," and that gave everyone a laugh. John Maxymuk, Packers By The Numbers
Could anyone have seen this coming last year when they were rolling people at home? Is the only major change that they don't have Jordy and they changed play callers? Certainly they've had some other players missing short stints, but there is no apparent reason for this offensive slump. I really thought that after that 4th quarter last week that they would start to come out of this funk.
Jordy being out means far more than just his missing stats. Other than Rodgers, he was the one guy they couldn't lose.
Offense needs to wake up. Can't just coast until there are 8 minutes left in the game. Can't afford to lose this game at home, but no one is hustling, no one is concerned.
Hindsight. Getting ball back to offense with more than a minute is reasonable bet. You expect to at least catch a pass or two and kill the clock if you need to. Stay aggressive, it inspires the team.
I said it was senseless immediately. Winning football is about knowing your limitations that are rooted in reality and making optimal decisions. 2nd down u don't play Madden with the other team at midfield.
