It pains me to predict 5-11 for the Packers' season because:

    1. First year head coach

    2. large number of rookies and first year players, particularly in the secondary and O-line.

      6-10 looks about right.

Lets just hope to see some promise from the young players and coaches.

Pick up Calvin Johnson and Michael Bush (who maybe we can now pick up in the 2nd round because of his injury) in the draft and were set!

Yes I have it all planned out LoL...

7-9. After going through the schedule, we play a lot of other bad teams. We should improve on last year's record. Better overall record than I originally thought.

7-9. Greg Jennings and AJ Hawk will be top rookies.

Dubble O reposted that prediction thread.

Thought I predicted 7-9, but it was actually 8-8.

So, 8-8 but I think we'll do worse. Much of the stuff I was optimistic about isn't panning out.

                      I still say 6-10.

There are 17 rookies and 1st year players on the 53 man roster. TT is looking for diamonds in the rough and he found a couple last season. Great but you won't win many games that way unless you have 4-5 probowlers on your team. Packers have Favre. At some point you have to stop adding potential and get players. That will happen, just not in 2006.

I remember during the head coach interview process JSO was running Bio's of the interviewees (Is that a word?). When McCarthy came in I saw 1999 Packers (Ray Rhoades yikes), Cleveland (ouch), 49ers OC (I live in SF and I was tempted to ask the FCC to ban broadcasts on grounds of obscenity). When I went to bed I thought to myself I hope I nver see his fat face again. I awoke to the news that he was the coach.
I hope that he is the right choice and I will give him time to prove himself and will not kill his dog under any circumstances. Still, our Oline is going to be a sketchy proposition(Please no more injuries), and unless Green comes back as good as he was and Jennings has a Randy Moss-like Rookie year, we are going to be an up and down offense.
                          6-10, with a good December.

All that said I like to take my Kool-Aid in Jello shot form.
We Will beat the Bears at Lambeau next weel.

                              I'll stick with 8-8.

My friend Captain Obvious (not to be confused with Captain Morgan) would like to add the following: If the o-line gels and the starters stay healthy, we could win a few more, considering our weak schedule. If the rookies on the o-line fail to hold up and/or we see significant injuries, we could end up with the #1 pick next April.
