Tomlin can't do it - he goes against the Pats nearly every year. That's a tough, tough draw.
Carroll can't do it - nearly did it twice, lost on the INT. Been to more than MM.
Payton - I thought they were gonna make it this year but didn't. They aren't talented enough since Drew Brees is better than good but not quite great.
Harbaugh, John - No QB
Harbaugh, Jim - What he did is amazing.
You know how LeBron is good enough alone to get to the finals every year? That should be Aaron if the rest of the team wasn't hot garbage. I like MM a lot but there are definitely some better coaches. Namely the Harbaugh's I think.

Okay, Woodbov. Bring it I will. You asked for evidence to back my claim that in most every thread you ask why the Packers weren't involved in the bidding for almost every free agent's services, as if the Packers should be trying to sign everyone.Originally posted by woodbuck27 View PostIn every thread?
Bring on the proof. Bring it !
From page three of the "defensive backs" thread, here's your post: "Our CB's situation is bad! Do we have anything like a Malcolm Butler in an NFL that's clearly about winning the passing game?
How much pressure does a BAD Packer Passing Defense place on a solid Offense, before that Offense cannot keep up?
Why weren't the Packers in play for the services of a Top CB like Malcolm Butler?"
From this very thread, in the page above, you write the following: "Alec Ogletree is now a NY Giant !
Wouldn't he have looked good as a Packer? Don't we have a big need in the middle and LBer!?
Can't you as a Packer fan imagine his impact on the Packer Defense? Why didn't the Packer GM get there and at least be in play for Alec Ogletree?"

Hairball (Jim) had a collection of top picks, particularly on the defense. Yes, he's a good coach, but he never won the Big dance, let alone repeated.Originally posted by call_me_ishmael View PostTomlin can't do it - he goes against the Pats nearly every year. That's a tough, tough draw.

So what If Seattle lost on a INT. Holmy lost on a tipped pass to Brooks you could argue. The fact is Coughlin Shanny and Cheat are the only repeaters since Jimmy Johnson (and maybe the Vulture, I'll have to check that*). That covers the last thirty years. The point being that it's pretty damn rare, even though Stubby developed the best QB in the league.
*edit: George Seifert did repeat in 1994. He also won in 1989 in his first year taking over for Walsh."Never, never ever support a punk like mraynrand. Rather be as I am and feel real sympathy for his sickness." - Woodbuck

Up to this point he's grossly overrated as a college coach.Originally posted by Fritz View PostJim Harbaugh sucks as a college coach.
Outspoken...talks the talk...but can't walk the walk.
It would not surprise me if he still excels...but up to thisi point he's a bitch to Urban Meyer just like everybody else in the Big Ten.TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

LBER Alec Ogletree
Alec Ogletree signed a 1 year, $1,075,000 contract with the Chicago Bears with an average annual salary of $1,075,000.
Yes it comes down to just how much CAP the Packers have left Fritz and allowing for the Draft Class? Googling for the answer:
Cap Space (w/All) $13,646,197
Cap Space (w/Top 51 & Projected Draft Pool) $7,639,112
Cap Space (w/Top 51) $17,006,197
If in fact our new FA' signings came before my Posts 'spank me'.
Frankly I don't like the Jimmy Graham signing when we had such need all over the Defense. We paid BIG WR CAP space for a Specialist TE and someone who carries the Rep. of not being a Blocking TE. That wasn't smart.
We are now in poor shape and our Teams Secondary. You would have to be 'a brain dead' or uninformed Packer fan' to not realize that TRUTH and now it's a bigger problem and just a bottom NFL dweller and Pass "D' but we need a Feature WR as well. We have need all over and who will be the blocking TE?
I merely have made suggestions. I do NOT insist in any particular FA as 'a must sign'.
That isn't my place as a Packer NFL fan. As a member of Packerrats (a Football Forum) and as a contributor; it is my place to offer input and simple suggestions. This is what a Forum is al about ........... right!?

IMO the Jimmy Graham signing was as much to appease Rodgers as it was to fill "need". I have wanted a legitimate TE for redzone plays for awhile, I can only imagine what AR has said. The bottom line is that TT ignored a lot of positions on this team for a long time. It's now coming back to bite them in the ass and they can't fill even half of what they need.

Right now the Philadelphia Eagles, Minnesota Vikings, Los Angeles Rams, New Orléans Saints and Atlanta Falcons are better teams than the Green Bay Packers.
Why the Green Bay Packers must become a complete team
" ...Following misfortune in the 2017 season the Packers now find themselves looking up in the standings to some NFC powers. At this moment, the Philadelphia Eagles, Minnesota Vikings, Los Angeles Rams, New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons all appear to be better teams than the Packers. These are more complete teams, who don’t rely entirely on their offense or defense. The days of Aaron Rodgers dragging the Packers through the playoffs are over. ..."

It's going to take 2, and more likely 3 Seasons as a minimum, to have a realistic shot.Originally posted by Rutnstrut View PostIMO the Jimmy Graham signing was as much to appease Rodgers as it was to fill "need". This is a pretty weak take, considering they signed Cook, Bennett, Kendricks and Graham in less than two years' time. It looks much more like they see the TE position as valuable than as an 'appeasement' to Rodgers, whatever the hell that means.Originally posted by Rutnstrut View PostIMO the Jimmy Graham signing was as much to appease Rodgers as it was to fill "need". The Packers have a good chance any year that Aaron Rodgers stays healthy. They just haven't maximized things, though, for a long time, maybe ever. This year, depending on how the draft comes out - and of course, the luck of things falling right, they have a very good chance - still not maximized, but getting there. What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?
