Well as it turns out, I'm up on time to make the picks, and in a strange twist of circumstance, pooping was involved. The resident jackass, moody, tired and I suspect hungover teenager had to head off to Timmy's for a morning shift. She woke the dog but didn't let her out, so the dog proceeded to whine until I did! The dog got about 3m from the door and pooped, I contemplated posting a picture of it here!

With the 45th pick of the 2018 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers select Carlton Davis, CB, Auburn

Some team sources are lower on Davis and have him as a second-rounder, while others think he should go late in the first. I agree with the latter as Davis has a good skill set and three years of starting experience playing well against good competition. I think Davis is worthy of a late first-round pick.

At the combine, Davis put up a solid 40 time for a big corner, 4.53 seconds. However, he didn't perform as well in the field drills, which further illustrates that he fits best as a press-man corner. In 2017, Davis totaled 36 tackles, 11 passes broken up and an interception. The 6-foot-1, 195-pounder is a good corner with size, speed and length. Davis does a nice job of battling big wideouts as he is a physical defender who really competes. Like many big corners, Davis can have issues with coverage downfield and deep speed. He also has eye-discipline issues and average ball skills.

Some scouts believe Davis could end up being a first-round pick, but others aren't as high on him. The sources who like Davis say he is a tall, loose, long, and very disruptive at the top of the route. Cornerbacks with his skill set and coverage skills are always in demand. Davis shows nice technique to jam receivers and use his length to cover them. He has the potential to improve in the NFL due to being an athlete with upside.

The Bengals have watched a few players they hoped would fall go off the board in the last few picks. Billy Price, Lorenzo Carter, Sony Micheal...they're at odds. They are thinking Ronnie Harrison, but know that isn`t the right way to go. Looking down, they see a piece of paper on the floor, dropped just a minute ago by some unknown soul. Picking it up and reading it, a light dawns...

I like the Carlton Davis pick. I originally voted for Hurst. But really like the idea of adding Davis' 6'1 frame to the other side of Kevin King. Two big holes filled with Landry on the Edge and Davis in the secondary. Good job Rats!

I went for none of those - biggest need IMO is OL, but I don`t see any withing shouting distance at that pick. If Price or Miller had been there, I would have grabbed them.
