Lorenzo Carter is not an option
TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

The EZ call is to go for the CB: but I'm not sure CB is the BPA out of that group. I'd like to play devil's advocate and note GB has now re signed House (who had a good first half of the year) and Williams (who can may still play) and there are a lot of capable CB's in later rounds.

Should be interesting to see how this poll turns out

Criminey, the mailman streets ahead of me this AM
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

I don't know about a draft where wist and I agree twice. Kirk was a consideration, but I am not as worried about WR as some. Cobb and Monty can work the middle of the field.

Hayden Hurst, TE, still a need on a team that wants to carry 3 with only one frontline starter. He runs 2 routes, one that M3 will like (vertical down the seam) and one that he is not that familiar with (crossing route). He can move and carried the ball on end arounds. Willing but not strong blocker.

I think Kirk can play outside... I think he's way better than Cobb

He's an electric player, very quick in and out of his cuts. I think he'll get open a lot and Rogers will trust him

Your thinking correctly Bretsky. That's now it ' being a given ' and based on Packerrat knowledge; that NO. 14 will be best used to upgrade the Packer 'D' and PASS RUSH as an assist to a POOR Packer Secondary. Yes they've retained 28 Year Old CB Davon House and brought back FA CB (Yikes! - 35 Year Old) Tramon Williams The future is now solely with 2017 1st Rd. Pick CB Kevin King.

Right off the TOP we have far more pressing needs than another Non Blocking TE. We already are seeing the Packers spend $10 Million$ of CAP space on the same and 'blocking challenged - RED ZONE Specialist' Jimmy Graham. Why are we even realistically considering Pick NO. 45 and TE?

There should be better fits and BPA' Prospects available when the Packers are Picking and in OUR MOCK, than TE Prospects Mike Gesicki, PENN ST., GRADE = 5.92 and Hayden Hurst, SOUTH CAROLINA - GRADE = 5.90

So what is the best option at NO. 45 ie A.) their thinking and greatest need and WR or DB or B.) go BPA CB/WR or C.) Simply pick BPA!?

Also this POLL might have had solid Prospect Options for Pick NO. 45, i.e.:

              As a Possible BPA ...

              1. Safety Jason Reid, STANFORD with a (Typ.) NFL.COM Ranked at the 21st BEST Prospect and Grade of 6.06

              2. ILB Malik Jefferson TEXAS ...WHY !? He looks like a late 4th or Early 5th Round Pick....There are many better Options as ILB Prospects or about 10 of them ! He's been falling like 'a Rock in water'. I've got him as the 148th Ranked Prospect NFL.COm with a GRADE = 5.57.

              I see it this way:

At ILB go with one of these: Josey Jewell, Iowa, 6'1" and 234 lbs and GRADE = 5.57 OR Tegray Scales

Indiana, 6'0" and 230 lbs GRADE = 5.63 and NFL.COM Ranked 101 Prospect. OR Micah Kiser, Virginia, 6'0"and

238 lbs. GRADE = 5.59. Others that I'd Rank Higher and at the ILB Position are: Jerome Baker Ohio State 6'1" and 229 lbs

OR Mike McCray,,Michigan, 6'1" and 243 lbs OR Christian Sam, Arizona State, 6'1" and 244 lbs but NONE of these ILB's will realistically be considered at PICK NO. 45.

              Why !?

The Packers will either Pick A) BPA or For Need, B) BPA WR or CB or given the serious weakness at DB and you cannot have enough CB's so in all likelihood BPA CB

Back to the Packers Round One Pick NO. 14 Overall:

What they do with that NO. 14 Pick is extremely vital and setting the tone for this Draft. That's why I'm living in a World of leaking a strong interest in QB Lamar Jackson my NO. 18th Overall Ranked Draft Prospect. Lamar Jackson,LOUISVILLE - GRADE 5.91 QB, Junior

I wouldn't expect too many here to see the smarts in really considering QB Lamar Jackson as the NO. 14 Pick. I really like this Football Player. I like his athleticism. I agree with Tom Brady that Lamar Jackson is 'a Beast'.

              ***
              Lamar Jackson 2017-2018 Highlights

ILB's Josey Jewel or Jerome Baker may be serious considerations if their available in Round Three and Packer Pick NO. 76 Overall.

              NOTE:

1A. CB Carleton Davis's NFL.COM GRADE = 6.00 and he graded better than CB's Mike Hughes ( 5.96); Isiah Oliver (5.90) and in the above POLL CB Donte Jackson ( 5.83)

2A. CB Carleton Davis got a NFL.COM GRADE of 6.00. and thus he's a solid Option at Pick NO. 45.

3A. I also think CB Quenton Meeks, Stanford - 6'1"and 209 lbs. is a solid NO. 45 Pick Option . I 'm looking for a GRADE on him but he's ranked just three position Overall rankings below CB Carleton Davis, Auburn (SEE !A, above).

Here's a Video LINK on CB Calvin Meeks Quenton Meeks - "Pac 12's Lockdown DB" | Official Stanford Highlights::

4A. WRF Christian Kirk, Texas A&M -5'11" and 201 lbs. Graded at 5.83 and Ranked at NO. 52 of all Prospects. Those available as Prospects with higher Grades are:

WRF Deon Cain, Clemson, 6'2" and 200 lbs GRADE = 5.86 and Ranked at Number 46 of all Prospects ... AND ... WRS or Wide Receiver Special Purpose' - Antonio Callaway, Florida - 5'11" and 197 lbs. GRADE = 5.88 and Ranked at Number 40. of all Prospects..

5A. WRF D.J. Chark, LSU, - 6'3" and 187 lbs ... has and NFL.COM 48th Ranked GRADE = 5.84 and a solid Round Two Prospect at the Green Bay Packers Pick NO. 45.

6A. WR Anthony Miller, Memphis - 5'11" and 190 lbs GRADE 5.79 is NFL.Com's 61st Ranked Prospect Overall.

That's my view on this early stage and the Packerrats POLL for Pick NO. 45 in Round TWO of our MOCK.

I agree with Woody about tight end... wouldn't even consider any of these tight ends in the top three rounds.

As for cornerback I think Jackson, Davis, and strohman should all be included in the poll.

If true, then I am officially OK with this as well. But I suspect it will be a CB in the end.

What seem like best options after just a quick look:
                      WR - Kirk
S - Reid or Jesse Bates
                      RB - Rashad Penny
                      DL - Rasheem Green
LB, OL and TE not much here, more value later

Chose Carlton Davis. He is a little slower than the other CBs but has good size. Probably won't start right away but could be a starter in second year.

Trade down seems like a better idea, something like:
GB trades 45 to Dallas for 50 and 116
                      GB trades 116, 172, 207 to TB for 102
Now have first 2 picks on Day 3 or can combine 101 and 102 to move up to mid-third round.

Nice return option too. 5 TDs last 2 years (4 on punts), average over 20 yds on punt returns in 2016 and 2017.
