Get real. What team would use a 1st round pick on A QB when they have a future HOF QB still playing at a high level?I can't run no more with that lawless crowd

But they've summoned, they've summoned up a thundercloud

So, the Packers got this?
2018 #18, 2019 1st, 2018 5th, 2018 7th
for
2018 #14, 2018 3rd, 2018 6th
I had the wrong intel. Basically, to drop four spots they got a 2nd (trade chart equivalent), 5th, and 7th for a 3rd and 6th. I actually like that a lot, and they may have still got the player they wanted at #14. They have enough ammo to easily get back into the 3rd round."There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. But quite frankly, most of the people that are commenting on it don't know anything about what they are talking about."--Ted Thompson

I don't know how you can judge the Saints trade when you don't know what that 1st round pick will be. Could be anywhere from 1 to 32. I agree they probably got the guy they wanted. At worst, the trades probably turned out okay. If the Saints have a bad year, it could turn out really well.I can't run no more with that lawless crowd

For once, the Vikings did not draft the guy I did not want them to get in the first round. I was not a big fan of Hughes. I had a mid 2nd round grade on him. I'm sure Zimmer can scout CBs better than me, but I was worried they'd get OG Will Hernandez."There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. I went on an NFL forum and about 3/4 of the fans picked the Saints as the biggest loser in round 1, so there's that.
I thought we gave up more and got less. Seeing the actual picks changes my opinion. So far, I'm encouraged by Gutey. Not afraid to hit FA early. Not afraid to make tough decisions on aging vets (although I would rather he resigned Jordy for half his salary). Not afraid to move up or down in the draft. Ended the silly requirement that a corner that is under 5'10 1/2" can't be drafted. I'm not saying you should have a roster full of 5'9" CBs, but there have been a lot of CBs shorter than 5'10 1/2" who have made the Pro Bowl and can play in any scheme. Any hard requirement that would eliminate that likes of Darrell Green and more recently the likes of Chris Harris is silly."There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. Afib? Hope it doesn't come back and speedy recovery!Originally posted by KYPack View PostTake heart there, Wist. I just got out of the hospital this AM. I had a cyroablation on my heart. All turned out great and everything is back to normal.
I was scared like a camp fire girl yesterday morning, tho.

I actually like the pick at 18. Gutey worked the board quite well. If he stayed at 27 I really would have questioned his decision making especially with the talent available at 14.

Swede: My expertise in this area is extensive. The essential difference between a "battleship" and an "aircraft carrier" is that an aircraft carrier requires five direct hits to sink, but it takes only four direct hits to sink a battleship.
