The Saints are one of the front runners for the Lombardi Trophy. I thought they were the best NFC team last year. If not for Minnesota’s immaculate reception, they might have been in the Super Bowl. That doesn’t mean that Brees won’t play like a 40 year old and have the Saints come back to the rest of the pack. I think that pick will probably be late 20s.Originally posted by red View Postespecially when that #1 this year was #14 and the pick next year could be in the 30's, or at least late 20s

This is unquestionably true. So what?Originally posted by pbmax View PostA number 1 next year is not the same as a number 1 this year.
Remember, the Packers aren't trying to win the Super Bowl this year or any year in the near future. They are simply trying to remain sufficiently mediocre to keep the seats filled and waste the career of yet another HOF QB."Never, never ever support a punk like mraynrand. Gute's going to have to pull a WR sleeper out of the hat today. How about St. Brown, Coutee or Antonio Callaway, the headcase from Florida?
As far as TE's go, Fumagalli is as good as any of them who are left.
Tim Settle or Maurice Hurst would be interesting. One time Lombardi was disgusted with the team in practice and told them they were going to have to start with the basics. He held up a ball and said: "This is a football." McGee immediately called out, "Stop, coach, you're going too fast," and that gave everyone a laugh.

Since da Pack didn't draft a WR high, I'm assuming Dez is on his way to cold, dark and dull GB to sign a contract.Originally posted by Maxie the Taxi View PostGute's going to have to pull a WR sleeper out of the hat today. How about St. Brown, Coutee or Antonio Callaway, the headcase from Florida?

Justin Watson, please. We need someone to fill the Bill Schroeder-Don Beebe-Jeff Janis-Jeff Query-Jordy Nelson slot.Last edited by The Shadow; 04-28-2018, 11:11 AM.Who Knows? The Shadow knows!

seems like we're getting more "ethnic" under the new GM, not just trying to build a team of white guys, or very light skinned blacks like TT was doingOriginally posted by The Shadow View PostJustin Watson, please. You might be right. Coutee and Callaway, my guesses, just came off the WR board. Either Dez or we'lll wind up with ESB from Notre Dame. Very, very green guy. They'll spray him with some gold and he's a Packer!Originally posted by Anti-Polar Bear View PostSince da Pack didn't draft a WR high, I'm assuming Dez is on his way to cold, dark and dull GB to sign a contract. One time Lombardi was disgusted with the team in practice and told them they were going to have to start with the basics. It sure looks to me like when he got into the War Room GOOT and his Draft Staff weren't as prepared as they NEEDED to be.
What's the thing (if it's true)and The Packers having several contacts with the NO. 1 Round Pick CB Jaire Alexander (and if again if this is the TRUTH) him saying he had 'no contact' wit the Packers !?
You have the NO. 14 Pick so why make that Trade all the way down to NO. 27 and pick up the New Orleans Saints NO. 1 Round Pick in 2019 before seeing how the Board is shaping up?
Packer GM Goot ... let go of an opportunity to get solid Picks in terms of OLB Tremaine Edmunds:
TREMAINE EDMUNDS, VIRGINIA TECH - ILB - GRADE = 7.17
Pick Analysis
Round 1 • Pick 16 (16)
This Player should have been Goot's Pick and even if he wasn't on the Board Goot could have chosen S Derwin James see below....There is little excuse for Packer GM and his Draft Team trading all the way down to NO. 27 and after Tremaine Edmunds and Derwin James are off the Board sliding back up the Board to the Next or NO. 18 Pick and picking a Prospect that very well might have slid to Round 2. Those moves cost the Packers and using the Drafttek Draft Trade Value Chart 'the Cost was 856 Points.
The old saying " A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush." was ignored.
By the way that's the approximate Value of the 20th Overall Draft Pick.
I guarantee (I'll bet anyone '$ One Thousand Dollars $' (I'll bet any Ten of you that amount) that that 20th Overall Pick next year will not be Graded > 7.00. Look at Tremaine Edmunds Grade and The Packers just walked away from the possibility of snapping this tremendous Prospect for a total unknown and what for all intents and purposes will be simply some pay back.
Trade Value Points do NOT Translate to the likes of a Tremaine Williams or even a Derwin James.
This is what our Packer Draft team elected to do and then before the Media put the BULLSHIT out there.

JAIRE ALEXANDER, LOUISVILLE - CB - Junior - Prospect Grade = 6.03
and Packer GM Goot, surrendered the Packer Third Round Pick NO. 76 Overall in that Razzle Dazzle Process of IMO (NO!) in my clearest view a piece of dumbass incompetence.
Then he pulls another boomerang silly assed move last night trading back into Round Three. moving up so little what 13 Spots and surrendering the TOP of Round 4 101st Pick and another that I'm now learning was a Fifth Rounder not the second Fourth Rounder as was originally reported here at Packerrats.
Tremaine 'shoulda been a Packer' Edmunds:
He doesn't turn 20 until May 2. He's an off the ball linebacker and some people think he's so talented, he might even be a pass rusher on third down. His future is immense. He's got this rare size and skill set that gives him a sub-package versatility that is unknown in today's game. --Mike Mayock

AND:
At: Round 1 ‧ Pick 17 - Los Angeles Chargers Chargers
DERWIN ' Coulda been a Packer' JAMES, FLORIDA ST. - S - COLLEGE - Florida St. - Prospect Grade = 6.44
You expect bigger safeties to have hip tightness, but you don't see it with him. He can open his hips and drive to a deep half or deep third, cover tight ends man to man, and when he gets there, he's arrives in a bad humor. --Mike Mayock

Final Comment:
I could easily choose Five Packerrats who as 'a DRAFT TEAM', would have been far better prepared to Draft better 'for Packer Nation', that what we have seen so far in this Draft; and from a large Group of highly paid Green Bay Packer BRASS and their Draft Scout Team.
This is the TRUTH and it's a crying shame that we have to put up with such utter CRAP.

Dougherty needs an editor. Sweat is still available in round 4. Uchenna Nwosu was the Chargers pick in round 2.Some other pass rushers still available, though, were Florida State’s Josh Sweat, who went to the Los Angeles Chargers at No. 48; Rutgers’ Kemoko Turay (Indianapolis at No. 52); Ohio State’s Tyquan Lewis (Indianapolis at No. 64); Georgia’s Lorenzo Carter (New York Giants, No. 66); and Ohio State’s Sam Hubbard (Cincinnati, No. 77)."There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. But quite frankly, most of the people that are commenting on it don't know anything about what they are talking about."--Ted Thompson
