JMU’s ..Raven Greene Sign NFL Contract (with the Green Bay Packers)
( Raven) Greene, who was a three-year starter in the secondary, helped JMU to its best defensive season in school history en route to being named a Second Team All-American by both STATS and HERO Sports.
Greene was also a HERO Sports Third Team All-American after leading JMU with six picks as a junior. He had five interceptions this past season and set JMU's all-time records for career interceptions (14) and interception return yards (258). He broke JMU's interceptions record on a 59-yard pick-six in the FCS semifinals against South Dakota State.
"I was sitting at home and the draft had just ended when I get the call from my agent that Green Bay had offered me a contract, and I can't describe all the feelings running through my head," Greene said. "All the lessons learns and adversity we faced the last few years have prepared me well for this opportunity. Things don't just happen by accident, so it's just a blessing."
Greene heads to Green Bay on next week.
