    In the mean time - Minnesota signed CB Holton Hill.

    1st-2nd rd talent, UDFA head.

    Position of major need, an uber talented guy available on the cheap... did we even sniff at this??

      If you knew enough to post about him, you know the reason the Packers didn't sign him.

        He's a smoker... if he can put the weed down for a few years, he should be a damn good player.

        I haven't smoked in years b/c of my job - you can bet the second I retire, I'll be firing up

          Maybe he thought the Packers are now set at CB?

          Maybe that's moot and the Packers think ............ their set at CB?

          I looked at this Prospect earlier (as his name jumped out at me) and then to see if or where he signed his UDFA Contract. Minnesota !

          I would have rather seen him signed by the Packers.

            Anyone invite sam mentkowski (UW Oshkosh) getting an invite anywhere? He was getting a lot of press prior to the draft due to the numbers he put up at the Wisconsin Pro Day and his 1500 yard season this past year.

                      Chatted briefly with former #Badgers DE Conor Sheehy after practice. Signed as free agent with #Packers shortly after draft, just wasn't announced. Well aware of Green Bay's rep for giving undrafted free agents a fair shake.


                      His agent really missed the ball on leaking this info. Probably sent it to Mad.

                            The Packers are signing two of their tryout players: LB Greer Martini of Notre Dame and TE Ryan Smith of Miami (Ohio), per a league source.
                            Smith could have a real chance of making the team as a blocking TE. DickRod type size, but a better blocker.

                            Big-bodied tight end who stands out as a blocker. Quickly releases off the line into pass routes, nicely adjusts to errant throws and makes receptions in stride with his hands. Displays a sense of timing, extends to pull the ball from the air and consistently makes catches with his hands. Stout, takes big hits but stays on his feet and works to pick up positive yardage after the catch. Bends his knees, stays square and keeps his head on a swivel blocking.
                            Neg:
                            One-speed tight end who lacks burst. Primarily a short-range target and cannot split the seam.
                            Analysis:
                            Smith has lineman size but does a terrific job catching the ball when thrown in his direction. He has enough ability to line up as a third tight end at the next level.

                              He also got roasted pretty good by WR's like D.J.Moore in college. Big bodied guy with some measurables, but if you're a raw player who likes to smoke that's a tough way to make a roster. Maybe you could make him a safety, but he's probably a camp body or PS guy.

                                Glad joe ferguson got a try out w/ Pack. He looked good for Bucky out of nowhere last season at safety.
