can't blame the guy. he thought he was going to a contender, and the team sold him on that. instead the team decides to get rid of their talent and tank the season
thats gotta be hard for hard working players like jordy who want to win
he might not be the last raider to call it quits either before the end of the season

Over the hill WR that made enough cash to retire good for him. I am still glad he was let go from the Packers. Next is Cobb and CMIII. Possibly Bulaga too if he keeps getting hurt.Swede: My expertise in this area is extensive. The essential difference between a "battleship" and an "aircraft carrier" is that an aircraft carrier requires five direct hits to sink, but it takes only four direct hits to sink a battleship.

As a Packer, J-Nel was a class act through and through.Originally posted by red View Postcan't blame the guy. he thought he was going to a contender, and the team sold him on that. instead the team decides to get rid of their talent and tank the season

I think he injured his knee yesterday. Raiders should put J-Nel on IR first. That would allow him to “retire” with a little dignity (and continue collecting paychecks).
Quitting in the middle of a lost season Vonte Davis style would be akin to Tex quitting the army in the waning moments of ‘Nam (the only foreign war the US has ever lost, or so I read).
Where’s the honor in leaving your band of bros behind to rot in the arena, with bloods beneath their feet, while the war rages on?

Why, though? For all the problems the Packers have had this year, their receiving corps has not been one of them.Originally posted by gbgary View Postif we were real contenders you might want to think about trading a 7th for him (or picking him up if oak release their rights) but since we're not...
If he were a tight end, or a pass-rushing OLB, or a safety who could play back and call the defense, well, then we'd be talking.
But Nelson, class act that he is, is not the receiver he was, and would not add anything to this roster at this point."The Devine era is actually worse than you remember if you go back and look at it."

It's just that with Oakland, no one will notice the difference.Originally posted by Pugger View PostI find it kinda curious that there is no news anywhere online yet about Jordy retiring. Not quite an insult. The Packers paid him $4mil or $5 mil for 2018 already. They said they'd pay him a total of $7mil. Only someone who doesn't understand NFL contracts would construe that as an insult. Granted, he was getting the money from GB one way or the other. So it made perfect sense for him to leave. But he wasn't insulted.Originally posted by Rutnstrut View PostI don't blame him. The Packers insulted him and his new team is a fucking wreck. Sure he wouldn't have tore it up in GB. But GB likes to collect overpriced underperforming veterans.
