Not a lot of salary cap room left. I don't think there will be anything major before the draft, unless they cut somebody to create some cap room.I can't run no more with that lawless crowd
While the killers in high places say their prayers out loud
But they've summoned, they've summoned up a thundercloud

I think I read they have ~$23M if they cut Tramon. They could still resign Wilkerson, Matthews, and/or Breeland. That would take up much of what they have left. If those guys don't resign though, there may be room for a slot WR or another S."There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. But quite frankly, most of the people that are commenting on it don't know anything about what they are talking about."--Ted Thompson

I think Tramontana could get you between $4-5 million in room. His contract wasn't that big. You could save $1 mil if it happens before tomorrow.Originally posted by HarveyWallbangers View PostI think I read they have ~$23M if they cut Tramon. Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Unless there is someone they really want to cut, I think one more mid-tier guy is it. Maybe Tate or Breeland accept that kind of money, but I doubt it.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Florio, had he stuck to just interpreting contracts and leverage, would be my favorite NFL insider type. He branched out and became wildly successful, but his breakdown of contracts is still the best part of his gig.
Here he is on why that Jets deal might be much better (or not better at all) than the Steelers offer last year: https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...eon-bell-deal/Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

cobb's free. williams and crosby are the obvious candidates for having their heads lopped off for immediate cap relief. i'd like to see breeland. justin houston would be great.Originally posted by Fritz View PostI am hoping - maybe wishing - that by cutting Cobb they might afford both Breeland and Golden Tate.

both signs already have expressed interest in him coming back
i'm guessing he's seeing if he can get a big deal somewhere, and if he can't, i bet he comes back for the same thing he played for last season
4 or 5 million for a year, or whatever it was

I ain't got no love for Breeland. He's nothing but a blacker Mr. Hyde. Hyde was an abomination.
Now that Cole Beasley is off the market, I'd love to see Cobb back in the Green and Gold. LaFluer's pick-in-roll offense might be tailor-made for Cobb at this stage of his career.
I want the Claymaker back b/c he's still white.
