  • PLANET HOUSTON: OT, Tytus Howard

    6'5", 322 lbs
    Alabama State

    6 POS RK
    47 OVR RK
    84 GRADE

    NFL draft profile: Tytus Howard
Alabama State's Tytus Howard has a good blend of abilities and is tough to beat when his hand placement is sound in pass protection.

    Pre-Draft Analysis
Howard has a good blend of size, length and athletic ability. He's tough to beat when his hand placement is sound in pass protection, and he held his own against Auburn early in the 2018 season. Howard flashes the ability to move defenders off the ball in the run game. He has the potential to develop into an effective zone blocker.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

      • LAS VEGAS: RB, Josh Jacobs

        5'10", 220 lbs
        Alabama

        1 POS RK
        23 OVR RK
        89 GRADE

        NFL draft profile: Josh Jacobs
Josh Jacobs is a running back from Alabama who is a tough pass blocker with above average burst through the hole and strength to pick up yards after contact.

        Pre-Draft Analysis
Despite never emerging as a full-time starter at Alabama, Jacobs has the traits to develop into a difference-maker in the NFL. He's a complete back with good instincts, quick feet, above-average burst through the hole and the strength to pick up yards after contact. He's an above-average receiver and a tough pass-blocker.

Yeah but Smuggler was thinking it wasn't a strictly need pick. Who starts if not Savage?

Trading up two picks may have worked well

With Gary, trade down and pick Gary later or draft an elite OL or edge like Burns over a high ability limited production guy
TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

Nope. Traded it to Seattle for 21.

Was that swap 1st and two 4ths? That makes more sense. I thought two 4's to move up was a little light.

Anybody find somebody who loves this pick ?
Well, McGinn's scout scources think Oliver is more likely to bust than Gary. So there's that.

"When 14 scouts were asked who had the best chance to bust at the position, Gary drew just the fourth most votes. Jerry Tillery led with four, followed by Christian Wilkins and Ed Oliver with three apiece, Gary with two, Trysten Hill with one and Zach Allen and Dre’Mont Jones, each one-half."

                          NFL draft profile: Marquise Brown
Marquise Brown explodes off the line and is one of the fastest WR prospects.

                          Pre-Draft Analysis
Brown explodes off the line and is one of the fastest wide receiver prospects we've ever evaluated in terms of game speed. He has the burst to separate, plucks the ball on the run and is a big-play threat after the catch. He lacks ideal size for a vertical threat, yet has the speed to get over the top of cornerbacks and does a solid job tracking the deep ball.

I think it was. I have not looked it up though.

                            • I’m a huge fan of the Savage pick. He looks like a star to me. And he’s a perfect fit next to the hyper responsible and reliable Adrian Amos. Savage can cover the deep middle, allowing Amos to stir shit up in the middle, similar to the way. Collins opened it up for Woodson or Thomas opened it up for Chancelor.

Alexander, Savage and King make for ridiculous secondary speed too.

On another note, Gary is gonna come in and see the two Smiths and for the first time he’s gonna be a regular sized fish in the pond. They’re all similar players so he’s going to get to learn from two guys who have mastered their craft.

There is one more spot where I see perfect players for our Packers team. Drue Tranquill and Cody Barton are perfect fits next to Martinez. Martinez is a great run player and a good pass player. Either of those two players above are great pass players and solid run players. Either guy would be a perfect fit for our defense. If we land one of those guys, our defense has a chance to be elite right now.
