    His released statement:

Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Thinking back to the 2018 combine -- the first in years without Ted Thompson -- and Seahawks GM John Schneider becoming emotional. It was obvious then (if not earlier) that something was wrong with Thompson.
This story seems worth revisiting now:

The critics never knew how right they were they said TT shit the bed when he tried to rebuild the roster in his last few years. Cruel to joke about this but I cannot help myself.

          I deleted the TT meme.

Jesus the fuck is wrong with you people? It's just a damn game. There are 1000s of more important things in life. Ted's drafting and success was not up to snuff the last few years but that is 90% of the league. He is a good man by all accounts, and he (and Mike McCarthy) represented the Packers with dignity, class and respect throughout their tenure. I respect the hell out of Ted Thompson, and you should too. I wish him well and hope he gets his health squared away and can enjoy his retirement or the twilight of his scouting career.

We won't know for a long time, if ever, but I still am curious what happened on that longer than expected medical leave a few years back when he truly appeared lost even after the extra time off. It was over the summer, after the draft and minicamps.

Wish TT all the best. Never understood the complaints that a humble, hardworking guy like himself had an EGO because he didn't go out and sign FA's. Really wish we had got 1 more SB during his time.

Oh, the ego charge. Makes me angry just thinking about it, about almost anyone.

Now it sounds like your forming for a parade. Will Ishmael act as the Drum Major?

GB is free to honor their mailman if they so choose. It's a management decision as I see it anyway. I never saw where they ran a fan poll about it. Just don't place Ted next to Brett in the Packers HOF.
It was past time for him to go when he finally retired. Now that he's no longer running the show, we can look at his whole career with the Packers instead of what he's doing now. His first few years were outstanding and set the Packers up for a long run of being SB contenders, even if they only brought home one.

When I look back over his drafts, Thompson really did do his best work early on - not that he didn't have some good picks later, but his percentage of successful picks slipped. He got guys who could stay on a roster (mostly) but not the kind of impact guys he was getting earlier, not as consistently, anyway. I remember the year - I think 08 - when he traded back from the first to the second round, then got some wide receiver named Nelson.

Kenny Clark looks like a great pick, but littered amongst the Clarks are first and second rounders like Datone Jones, Josh Jones, Jerel Worthy, and the like.

Ted had hip replacement surgery in 2014. That was when it got noticeable.

Maybe he threw a clot and it was undiagnosed. Seriously.

At a certain age, you just don't bounce back from setbacks. Silverstein insists it was noticeable in 2017 in his post draft presser. He was better at the Shareholder meeting and in camp, but was worn down in the 2017 camping again.

As a young lad wearing flowers in long Jesus hair, I was at an anti-war rally once when a long lost high school crush came out of the blue to say hello to me. Dolefully, porn addiction had already clouded my mind with dullness. I regretfully ran away from her without saying a fucking thing. As the great rock band, Coldplay, likes to say, fuck missed opportunities!

Todd's regime was the epitome of missed opportunities. And incompetence. And underneath the fake smiles and wry jokes, cowardice.

Despite the abundance of cap bucks and frogskins, Todd couldn't and didn't acquire the likes Randy Moss, Marshawn Lynch, Tony Gonzalez and Brian Urlacher. All the planets aligned for Todd, and the Great Arm of Butte was his to draft. All Todd had to do afterward was utilize Belichickism. Trades. Free agency. The draft. Instead, Todd opted to drown the Packers in an impotent sea of incompetence with that draft and develop bullshit. If not for Desean Jackson, Todd would've been decapitated without a ring.

Talk about missed opportunities. And incompetence. And after the fluke Super Bowl victory, Todd could've inspired millions of downtrodden queens to come out - talk about cowardice.
