I am just going to assume this is Bill Belichick style misinformation and the actual hurt guys will injure an MCL at Sunday breakfast.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Yep, gotta acclimate. Breath in the Eucalyptus, eat at Hobees and Su Hong, steal some merch from a pharm along El camino real, take old la honda up to Skyline, bike through Pascadero, defecate and shoot up on the streets of San Fran, play hackysack badminton and rollerblade through golden gate park, run naked through the presidio - the works.Originally posted by MadtownPacker View PostLocal sports news had Davante interview.

Earlier in the season, Pettine ran a lot of exotic stuff. Even some erotic stuff, too. But despite making some big plays out of those stuff, the D was also giving up too many big plays. Nowadays, Pettine usually run simplistic 4-men rush, Cover 1, Cover 2 and Cover 3. Nothing wrong with running simplistic 4-men rush when you can knock the QB's head off with only 4 rushers. Lovie Smith and Pete Carroll are masters of the 4-men rush shit.Originally posted by pbmax View PostThere is a point where you have to declare your defense by playing it.
Almost every offense used motion of some type to figure out zone versus man. QB always watches the safeties to see what happens post snap.
There is only so much you can do especially when facing a spread, 4 or 5 wide.
The funny thing is, this guys wants more man coverage, which is the easiest to read and find specific routes to defeat. But you have to have 3 CBs who can stay with it for 3 plus seconds. Not sure Packers young guys survive that long yet.
Mixing in zones is the logical alternative.
Problem with the Packers is, Martinez sucks in coverage - can't cover anyone mano-a-mano and lack coverage awareness in zone.. Opponents have been exploiting the middle of the field where Martinez roams. Coaches are sometimes stupid. Pettine needs to sub out Martinez on obvious passing downs for another DB.
Speaking of stupid coaches, it's 3rd and 15 and coach instructs his QB to dump the rock off to the HB. Might as well put the punter in at "HB" and direct snap him the rock, max protect and have him punt the fucking rock.Last edited by Guest; 01-16-2020, 11:32 AM.

The Packers are a young, top 10 defense in points allowed and theyve improved to a point they might be playing more like top 5 now.
The more veteran secondaries tend to do a better job of mastering several coverage concepts and being able to know the subtleties and checks of all of them, cohesively, as a unit, even when shifts and uncommon route combinations are run.
The Packers are very young with Alexander, King, Savage and Sullivan all playing extensively.
Some young guys can only do 1 or 2 things well. Our guys are mixing coverages fairly well and doing a handful of things well. And getting better.
They have a ways to go. I do expect them to be a top tier defense next year because they'll have experience and continuity to go with their speed and talent.
For now, they're just not on Tennessee's level. But they are in the next tier down with SFFormerly known as JustinHarrell.

Sounds like maybe too long.
As for the game, I am at peace. I think the Niners are simply better, especially in terms of the defensive line and the tight end position, and are the equal, at least, in terms of offensive line. SF is a strong, tough, fast team. I think it'll just be too much, again, for the Packers.
So I'm okay if they lose - unless, of course, it's a re-run of that damn 2014 NFC Championship game, and the Packers come in, play tougher than nails, and build a lead, only to peter out at the end. Then I'll be mad for what might have been, what could have been. But if SF just grinds them down, as I think they will, I won't be upset. It's been a hell of a season. I thought they'd go 6- 10, maybe 8 - 8 at best. So how pleasantly surprised have I been!"The Devine era is actually worse than you remember if you go back and look at it."

Spot on. I think the 9ers are a better team (as much as I absolutely hate to admit it...the fans here are insufferably bandwagoners). But if the Pack comes to play, puts on a dominating performance, then gives it up, I won't be okay anymore.Originally posted by Fritz View PostSounds like maybe too long.

Yeah, you both are correct, 49ers are the better team. But unless the Packers win, and no matter how they do it, pretty or ugly, I am going to be very upset. The packers don't get any points for doing better than I expected, nor points for being underdogs for this game. I guess I look at it as somebody who probably won't live to see many more super bowl shots.Originally posted by Smidgeon View PostSpot on.
