Aaron Rodgers on @PatMcAfeeShow: "We haven't picked a skill player in the first round in 15 years, so that would be kind of cool."

Rodgers says whoever the pick is, he'll track down his phone number and welcome him to the team tonight -- if the Packers don't trade out.
Well they just got a long overdue skill position

Not rebuilding. But it makes it clear they think the answers are on the roster.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

yeah, his contract means he's not going anywhere for the next 2 years

well, kinda wish we would have gone after some better players in free agency if we were gonna draft for the distant future

He'll sit on the bench for at least 2 years. Free agency got us an ILB and an OT, I fully expect we'll draft a WR in the 2nd.

            • "Terrible move by the Packers. Aaron Rodgers told me last summer he wants to play until he's 40. They needed a receiver. They needed defensive help. Sitting behind Rodgers will do Love well, but not going to do the Packers well. You're on the cusp of getting to a Super Bowl, get Rodgers some help. (Pete Prisco)"

              • Is that Brandon’s ILB to Seachickens?

                  • Everything seemed to be shaping up just right to get Denzel Mims - all the guys I liked less gone. Damn.
What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?

                    • maybe the new coach and GM see that rodgers is no longer coachable and has been phoning it in?

                        • Fuckin hate this. For those saying trade Rodgers, is he even tradable given the cap hit they'd take? I think the answer is no

                          • This ain’t like ARod dropping from the potential #1 pick into our lap.

This is more like Shermie trading up for Sanders.
But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

They can’t get rid of him. They aren’t prepped like Ted was for cap hit.

Thought they could but cap hit this year is north of $25 mil

Is there a reason to give away a 4th round draft pick ?
Probably worried about the teams at the top of the second round trading up. I'm not enamored. Love better be the heir apparent, and a good one. If they go from Favre to Rodgers to a Pro Bowl caliber QB, they'll look like genuises. Otherwise, wasted pick. We'll see. It will be a long time before we know if this was the right move. Just like the Rodgers move. Love was not good in 2019, but he basically lost every starter on offense. He went from 33 TDs-6 ints in 2018 to 20 TDs-17 ints in 2019.
"There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. But quite frankly, most of the people that are commenting on it don't know anything about what they are talking about."--Ted Thompson
