You generally can't reason with someone that's invested in a conspiracy. Similar principle to why people stay in cults way past the rationale point. They can't back down once they get in too far without eating a huge slice of humble pie.

How does it work? Are NFL players required to agree before bthey are drafted? Do they get them all in a room and swear them to secrecy? Does it start in college? How do the administer the training program explaining how to script games so they still look realistic?
