  • And another thing. Troy (and its funny but on ABC I enjoy Troy and Joe a LOT more) said McManus was finally feeling close to healthy.

If true and not just something you say after missing kicks, why wasn't the kid out there the last 2 weeks? Let the veteran who is going to stay get healthy.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

        • Oh gosh darn. Now we’re really gonna suck. Can you imagine being 29th or 30th on ST next year. Lol

              It's a variety of factors

The GM cares little about bringing in or rostering stellar ST guys
              ut
The coaches avoid using anybody of value on ST

And Bisacchio, he's no Jimmy Leonard in getting his groups to over achieve.
TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

                No more Italians, please.

I am sick of Italian special teams coaches fucking shit up and Italian chicks shooting me down.

                • Bisacchio is a smart dude; maybe he hung out as long as he could hoping to get fired (and paid)

Assuming he gets no ching by resigning

You oughtta change your username to Anti-German Shepherd.

Gutekunst kept so-so players like Anderson, Welch, McDuffie and Melton mainly for their special teams kung fu. I do agree with you about the Frog refusing to play prominent players at ST. Reed would make a good punter returner. Watson would be awesome returning kicks.

                    • Virtually every team fills out their special teams with players like that. You coulda added Mosby who IMO did an exception job.

As I recall, Reed, as potentially good as he is as a punt returner, had a tendency to cough up the ball. With the new format of kickoffs, nobody is gonna have long returns. The best returner IMO is Emanuel Williams or somebody similar who will just haul ass straight ahead and get to the 35 or so yard line without fumbling. The Specials Teams coach needs to pound it in to them not to get penalties on returns as we did so often with Bisaccia.

It has been this way since Sherman. Its not gonna change because the coach of Special Teams change. This is just swimming in circles.

Gutekunst specifically left out returners as a spot he was willing to devote to a ST only player. The front office demands they be developing, higher ceiling players competing for playing time elsewhere.

Gute did bring in 1-3 ST specialists unlike Thompson. Under RB, that got the coverage teams to medicore.

I tend to think you are simplifying this; although I must admit when the list of ST coaches was posted the last one I remember being happy about was Jon Bonemengo, or someting like that and he was 20 plus years ago.

The horrible penalties, the coverage breakdowns at key spots, losing lanes...isnt that at least partly on coaching ?

                              • GREEN BAY, Wis. – Cameron Achord, who once led the NFL’s best special teams, is among the candidates to replace Rich Bisaccia as Green Bay Packers special teams coordinator, a source told Packers On SI.

In 2020, then-New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick promoted Achord to special teams coordinator after the former coordinator, Joe Judge, became head coach of the New York Giants. During his first season, Achord’s units ranked No. 1 in Rick Gosselin’s annual special teams ranking and No. 4 in Packers On SI’s rankings.

Achord led New England’s special teams from 2020 through 2023. In Gosselin’s rankings, the Patriots fell to 18th in 2021, 16th in 2022 and 13th in 2023. He was not retained when the Patriots hired Jerod Mayo to replace Belichick in 2024.

Achord spent the last two seasons as the Giants’ assistant coordinator. In the Packers On SI rankings, the Giants were 20th in 2024 and ninth in 2025.
