If you play to lose on offense you will eventually lose on Defense. Eating the clock is a tactic not a philosophy. This is Martyball.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Right. I'm blaming both sides in this case. But you are focusing on the offense. This is a Halfwit thread so I'm focusing on his failures more. And he failed. He didn't fail BECAUSE the offense failed. Although that can be the case when the O allows the D to get gassed, that wasn't the case in Chicago.Originally posted by pbmax View Post

At some point, whatever the job demands, the dam will break. That defense wasn't 100% without a pass rush and he had to blitz to create it.Originally posted by bobblehead View Post

True. We were decimated both sides of the ball last year. You can't come into the playoffs down Kraft, Parsons, Tom, Wyatt, Jenkins....did I miss anyone? Injuries are part of the game, but that was just too much talent missing on both sides of the rock.Originally posted by pbmax View Post

Yeah, agree. Unless it was the unexpected wild card game against the 49ers in 2014 in frigid Lambeau, where they also should have won but couldn't find one more score in the game. They were down everyone and Rodgers was back from an injury. Defense ran out of gas and Jarret Bush was starting. At some point, Jarret Bush will explode in your hand. Once per game, guaranteed. And he did at the end.Originally posted by bobblehead View Post

How about the year we won the Superb Owl with half our team on IR and a 5th stringer starting at OLB in Frank Zombo?Originally posted by bobblehead View Post

I think last year was worse. Packers lost arguably 5 of their top 10 players to season ending injuries. 2010 team lost Barnett and Finley, but other guys like Matthews and Jenkins who had had injuries were back for the playoffs. 2010 team had a ton of injuries, but some guys are easier to replace than others.Originally posted by ThunderDan View Post

Absolutely correct. I hear all the time about "all teams go through injuries." While that is definitely true, not ALL injuries/injured players are created equal.Originally posted by Joemailman View Post

I was not certain the Packers would survive losing Woodson in the second half.Originally posted by ThunderDan View Post

One of the most pleasant shocks in history for me. I was super cynical heading into the playoffs. I think we were down both starting OTs. Our defense seemed to peak at just the right time. I also recall thinking that fat mike got forced into playing the right players by a couple key injuries though. I'd have to look back for exactly what I was thinking at the time. One that I seem to remember in my current morning fog was being forced to put Desmond Bishop on the field in place of the lightweight Nick Barnett. That changed our run D from what I recall and helped trigger the historic run from the wildcard (and didn't we only make the playoffs because DeSean Jackson returned a punt)?Originally posted by ThunderDan View Post

Packers lost Tauscher in week 4 and he was replaced by rookie Bulaga. That wasn't much of a loss. Tauscher was at the end of his career (He wouldn't play again) and Bulaga was a young stud. Clifton, Colledge, Wells and Sitton started every game. Packers needed 2 breaks to make the playoffs. One was the Jackson punt return as the Eagles beat the Giants. The other was a 4-10 Lions team beating the Bucs late in the year.Originally posted by bobblehead View Post
