I think the reason its so clear is because of last years draft class absolutely balling out. Normally guys drafted 4-7 are fighting every year, but basically everyone from 2023 is killing it including DuBose. I can't ever recall drafting 8 guys who were virtual roster locks in their second year. Maybe its only 7, Wicks, Reed, all 3 TE (sims a FA), Van Ness, Brooks, Vallentine. Damn!! 8 Virtual locks, now throw in Dubose Wooden and Johnson as strong possibilities.Originally posted by texaspackerbacker View PostThis seems somehow more clear cut than sometimes in the past, maybe because of the practice squad changes. I have very few differences from Joe's or for that matter, the other one posted. Unless the injury is worse than I have heard, I'd keep Howard over Merriweather. I thought Telfort looked pretty bad and Caleb Jones looked better as a PS OT. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they cut Newman. And I thnk Joseph stays on the PS ahead of Hale. The only time success comes before work is in the dictionary -- Vince Lombardi

Kristian Welch made a case today. But adding Jim would mean 6 LB's. Hard to see that. Maybe Cooper starts season on IR. Kalen King looked good today. He has a chance of beating out Ballentine or Zayne Anderson.I can't run no more

MLF was asked in his PC about the kicker situation. Part of his answer was "We'll see what happens just around the league" If Carlson is the kicker, he's hanging by a very thin frayed thread.I can't run no more

Couple amendments after finale. Yes, I copied Joes 53 and am just tweaking it. Joe did the heavy lifting.
QB: (2) Love, Pratt (still hoping for a vet signing)
RB: (3) Jacobs, Wilson, Lloyd/Dillon (which one starts on IR? Anyones guess but one will)
FB: (1) Pearson
WR: (6) Doubs, Watson, Reed, Wicks, Melton, DuBose
TE: (3) Musgrave, Kraft, Sims
OL: (9) Myers, Jenkins, Walker, Rhyan, Tom, Monk, Dillard, Telfort, Morgan
DT: (5) Clark, Slaton, Wyatt, Brooks, Ford (I think Ford's size wins out in the end)
DE: (5) Gary, Smith, Van Ness, Enagbare, Mosby (Cox has never looked sudden or special to me)
LB: (6) McDuffie, Walker, Wilson, Cooper, Hopper, Welch (welch over Anderson at S)
CB: (5) Alexander, Nixon, Stokes, Valentine, Ballentine
S: (5) Bullard, McKinney, Oladapo, Johnson, Williams
ST: (3) Anderson, Whelan, Orzech
I don't think we are going to be shocked at the end of this. The only time success comes before work is in the dictionary -- Vince Lombardi

So Bobble, like Joe, you seem to think that either Zayne Anderson can kick or that there is some kicker out there named Anderson who will be the kicker in Green Bay. Or that even autocorrect doesn’t like Warm Carlson."The Devine era is actually worse than you remember if you go back and look at it."

Yea, like I said, I copied Joes roster since he had done most of the heavy lifting. I forgot the correction.Originally posted by Fritz View PostSo Bobble, like Joe, you seem to think that either Zayne Anderson can kick or that there is some kicker out there named Anderson who will be the kicker in Green Bay. As for Heath over DuBose, you are judging just with what we saw in games. By all accounts DuBose had a monster camp and has been run blocking like a demon. Plus he was a draft pick. I think they go with him based on camp. The only time success comes before work is in the dictionary -- Vince Lombardi

Unless they try to calculate which one, if waived, would be more likely to be claimed by another team. In that case, they might go with keeping Heath. Reason being that Heath showed last year he can actually be productive in real games that really matter. DuBose has not had the opportunity to do that.Originally posted by bobblehead View PostYea, like I said, I copied Joes roster since he had done most of the heavy lifting. I forgot the correction.

Not a misprint. I do not have a kicker on the initial 53. They will pick up somebody, or re-sign Carlson or Joseph.

I could definitely see this happening. I'm not sure at this point any other team would swoop in for either kicker, so you would probably be able to re-sign either one. Therefore you'd have one more open spot to keep someone at another position for a few days. And maybe it wouldn't hurt Warm Carlson to poop his pants a little when he's cut and out of the league for a few days or so.
