He's free! He's free!. Hope it's for real. Wonder if the coaching change has made a difference.

Green Bay Packers edge rusher Lukas Van Ness credits the freeing of his mind and the release of his perfectionist habits for his rapid progression as a player to start his third NFL season.
Following Thursday's joint practice with the Indianapolis Colts, in which reporters on the sideline credited him with at least two sacks in 11-on-11 periods, Van Ness said he's thinking less and playing more.
"Just freeing up my mind," Van Ness said. "I think the ability has always been there. At times, like Matt (LaFleur) said, I'm a perfectionist and wanted to do the right thing all the time. But this is the game of football, and it's an imperfect game. Sometimes you gotta make the wrong play to go make a play. Not overthink. I think I've opened up my mind to that. It's worked out well so far."
Van Ness's comments almost perfectly mirror what coach Matt LaFleur said about his progression earlier this month.
"I think Luke always want to be perfect, and this is an imperfect game, and sometimes you just have to go," LaFleur said last week. "He's starting to learn that. He was a young player when we drafted him, and he's getting more reps and he's doing a really good job."I can't run no more

No, I think I was about the only one here who blamed the OL.Originally posted by Joemailman View PostYou think subpar CB play is why the Packers lost in the playoffs to the Eagles? Packers scored 10 points and turned the ball over 4 times. Jalen Hurts had 131 yards passing. And you blame the CB play? The only time success comes before work is in the dictionary -- Vince Lombardi

By the way its new not Knew.Originally posted by texaspackerbacker View PostMaybe. (BTW. it's regimen, not regiment). Some of that undoubtedly is necessary. It also, however, might have something to do with the injuries, heavier built up hamstrings and calf muscles, etc. being more likely to sprain or strain, and bulked up legs putting more stress on knew cartilage, Achilles tendons, etc. - tissue that is what it is and doesn't get "fitter" with exercise (somebody correct me if I'm medically wrong about that). The only time success comes before work is in the dictionary -- Vince Lombardi

I agree. Worse yet, I feel like he saw Bakh sit back down over and over while collecting his money and thought he could pull the same move. But Bakh was more legit imo....and it the Packers brass' opinion.Originally posted by Bretsky View PostJaire was amazing; and he was smash mouth, very physical, and a great tackler....until his injury...then he just wasn't the same.

I think 2 years of development made the diff. To be honest I never thought he was that bad when he was on the field.Originally posted by Joemailman View PostHe's free! He's free!. Hope it's for real. Wonder if the coaching change has made a difference.

He played only 2 years of college ball. Some people at the time said he should have stayed another year at Iowa before going pro. He was still a bit of a project when the Packers drafted him.Originally posted by bobblehead View PostI think 2 years of development made the diff. Will you be at the Packers-Dog Farts game on September 21?Originally posted by RandsRevenge View PostHaven't been keeping close watch, but he seems OK. I wasn't getting picky, you corrected regiment so I thought I'd follow your lead. Is this THE most injury-filled training camp in memory, or do I just panic every year?
Speaking of - well, not panic but disappointment - I thought Jacob Monk would be a very solid backup center this year, lining himself up to take over when Elgton Jenkins becomes unaffordable at season's end. But The Monkster has by all accounts had a disappointing training camp.
On the other hand, Ty'ron Hopper seems vastly improved and may be challenging Simmons for that #4 linebacker spot."The Devine era is actually worse than you remember if you go back and look at it."
