Also, Micah ranked 24th out of 115 EDGEs (at least 100 snaps vs the run) positively graded play rate vs the run in 2024, per @PFF
He's, obviously, not as good defending the run as he is rushing the passer, but he's still good versus the run and not the reason DAL struggles in that area, as I have shown throughout his career.I can't run no more

What's that expression, "if you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen"? I almost posted, to his credit, at least Patler didn't whine - just his toadies. Now I guess you joined 'em hahahaha.Originally posted by Patler View PostI don't think you want to see "a ton of good, serious, competent posting" unless, of course, by that you mean posting that agrees with you. You belittle and insult the vast majority of opinions that are contrary to yours and the individuals who write them.
Your last paragraph says a lot about you and your attitude toward individuals and opinions you do not agree with. That is what you attempt to do with your posts here, punch out those you disagree with.
My post that initiated a lot of this is the thread "Patler's ... Pontifications." I will revert to that for substantive discussion, if you care to have any.
Yes, you perceived correctly about the punching out thing. That is the way I see it, and hell yeah, that's the way I see it about that's what a forum is for.
For the record, I did consider your original post to be serious and competent - just 90% wrongheaded. I even acknowledged in a later post what the sensible 10% was. Then, of course, the clique chimed in, as was predictable.
Also, for the record, I generally only "belittle and insult" posters who need belittling and insulting. That wasn't really the intent with you - hence the "hahahaha" when I said you were overrated or over the hill. That was more a jab at the dumbasses who are so good at swallowing that seem to worship you.
At any rate, I wouldn't want to "discourage" you from posting, not even those other whatevers. What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?

Parsons has been damn good defending the run in pursuit, not so much when they ran right at him. That's to be expected if he plays in line DE at his size. Likely Hafley won't use him there except in fairly extreme passing situations, and then with another level backing him up. Getting teams to run in obvious passing situations is usually a good thing.Originally posted by Joemailman View PostJohn Owning

The little star at the bottom left of each post is the “rep” function which is what those green bars above our avatars are. When it started I added to the points based on post count. As it is in this Like or Dislike world, positive rep adds to it and negative removes. The dark green part is where everyone starts.Originally posted by Patler View PostBeen kind of busy over the weekend, so haven't had a chance to reply, Tex.

Overrated?? There are ratings for Packerrats posters? How did I do????

Micah Parsons, who is listed as questionable for Sunday due to a back injury, is expected to make his Packers’ debut vs. the Lions, but he also is not expected to be in on every down, per sources. The Packers still are figuring out how much to play him; it will be some, but not the full amount.I can't run no more

It was reported that he didn't get the injection. Still played halfway decent.Originally posted by bobblehead View PostI just need to know if he got that injection they were saying he would need to play. If not, the entire back injury was a negotiating tactic.2025 Ratpickers champion.

APB asked for someone to bump me hating the Parsons trade. Could this be me hating on it??Originally posted by bobblehead View PostThe final numbers are going to funky. Parsons will play this year on the 5th year option (I've seen a few numbers. $24M being highest.). If we signed him to a 4 year, its really a 3 year with team option....I need to see what that number is. If the cap continues to go up (it will) this might simply be a market contract given the cheap year this year. I'm betting 5th year is $50M+ which makes this look more like 4 years for $164M. That seems much more tolerable to me. Unlikely he ever plays that 5th year at the contract cost. The only time success comes before work is in the dictionary -- Vince Lombardi

I guess this could be unadulterated hatred. More confusion and misunderstanding I'd say.Originally posted by bobblehead View PostThe 2 firsts don't bother me, but losing Clark this year and forward kinda do. As I said, the run D will suffer for this move and we already got pushed around enough that we drafted, traded for, and signed 4 guys who were much larger than our "model". Then we turned around and traded a large man for an undersized EDGE.The only time success comes before work is in the dictionary -- Vince Lombardi

Thinking we gave up a bit too much, but not hate.Originally posted by bobblehead View PostWe were much better, but if you watch late in the 4 games we played the 2 teams I mention we got pushed around. But I agree that we were pretty solid most of the year and my gripe isn't with last season, it is more like this.
We got a new DC, got better vs. the run and had our best defense in years. Things were looking pretty good. We even played the pass pretty well and schemed pressure in select situations despite Jaire not playing. We did get pushed around by the elite teams and took a lesson from it by adding FOUR OL who were bigger than we historically have been so we could duplicate the bully ball. I wish we had kept Slaton or slayton or whichever one TJ was, but we added Brinson and Stackhouse.
We WERE NOT one player away (maybe we would have won it without Parsons, maybe we won't with him). I would have been fine giving up 2 premium assets (2 firsts, 1 first and Gary etc.). Not so sure about giving up 3. Plus we created a weakness by adding a mega star to a position group that actually wasn't that bad. Van Ness showed a lot of improvement and our depth was solid. We didn't NEED Parsons anymore than you always need a mega star. He has been known to get washed out in the run game. He also sometimes destroys the OL in the run game and makes splash plays. But creating a weakness in the interior was a mistake. The bucks wanted a mega super scorer so they traded a defensive stud for Lillard. The defense went to shit. So I don't like the trade from the standpoint that we created a weakness and gave up a lot of assets. I would have actually liked it more if it had been Gary because at least that would have simply been a huge upgrade to a position. I could go on, but I think I made my point. Sometimes its hard to see the ripple effect, and I think the ripple effect in run D will be noticeable.....I'll bet we aren't 3rd in the league in YPC this year. We better not fall behind a lot though or we're gonna have a problem.
And to stress the point AGAIN, this team seems to not know what direction its heading. Big EDGE or small EDGE. Because they were adamant in not drafting Brian Burns, but now we gave the future for the more talented version of him.The only time success comes before work is in the dictionary -- Vince Lombardi
